In essence, what he's saying is that Trump cynically appealed to "nativists" to get them to the polls, with bs proposals, like the Wall, banning Muslims, and pulling out of NATO. So he's a demagogue, according to the dictionary:

    That's unfortunate for the

In reality he is already the President,
and like the others before him, will face challenges of the promises made.
I say give him a chance to demonstrate how to make America Great Again, starting this coming January next year.
The task is not easy but for everybody's sake the cause is noble and needs to be supported.

(*)(*)(*)(*) him, America is already great. Of course it was all "metaphorical" and Trump has obviously been a Fascist demagogue liar from the beginning. How can one not see that? Is anyone truly that naive? Trump is a megalomaniac and all he wants to do is cultivate enemies and cause false crises so he can use them to seize more and more power for himself. He must be actively opposed at every turn and removed from office as quickly as possible if we are to save our country, the same as all the rest of his antidemocratic and authoritarian ilk.

That would be a defiance against the electorate which is focal in terms of democratic foundations. Let us say let democracy continue and there's a check and balance and the scrutiny of the voting public, then we could act according to his performance. If America is truly great then he could not bring it down that easy.

Trump exhibits virtually all the classic characteristics and behaviors of an addict:

    • Self-centered and grandiose to the extreme, the addict is immature and childish, petulant and vindictive; he is a petty tyrant, a child-king, who thinks the world revolves around him.
    • The addict is undisciplined, easily distracted, with a very short attention span.
    • Self-will runs riot — the addict wants what he wants and he wants it now.
    • He thinks nothing of lying, cheating and stealing in order to get what he wants.
    • The addict is thin-skinned and hypersensitive; he over-reacts to slights, both real and imagined.
    • The addict holds onto resentments, nurse grudges, and broods over perceived disrespect and “attacks” by others.

Trump — like other addicts — can be a con artist who depends on his skill at lying and manipulating to get what he wants. In fact, he is such a good con artist that he cons himself! He actually believes his own lies. His mind is characterized by “stinking thinking” and he truly can’t tell fact from fiction.

'Cometh the hour, cometh the man.'? Well done those who voted him in. He's a bit rough around the edges but he'll do okay when he settles in and gets the hang of the job. My long-lost faith in America has been rediscovered.

Has Trump started moving his foreign based companies back home? Nothing stopping him now given that he surely will keep up his promises.

They don't even know they voted for a neo-liberal.

BTW, neo-liberalism, when confronted by a rabble (like the alt right closeted gay Hitler youth we've seen recently) adopts the fascist jackboot by default.

Neo-liberalism and fascism being being the equivalent of married Alabama first cousins.

    Good times.

No Obama is more popular than either Clinton, Trump or Congress. It was a repudiation of the Clinton 'image', carefully constructed by the GOP Congress. This was not a policy election at all. It was a we hate Trump or we hate Clinton election and are motivated enough to show up election. More people hated Trump but they weren't living in the right states, so we are stuck with a lying manipulative pile of narcissism.

But is anyone on his staff smart enough to know what the word 'Metaphorical' means? And will he, or she, be patient enough to explain it to the new Trailer Trash in Chief?
