So there it is after all the calling for the heads of the police, all the lies told by witnesses, all the hyperbole CLEARLY no charges were ever warranted. Will those who wanted the police offices charged not withdraw those demands?

CHARLOTTE -- The Mecklenburg County District Attorney Andrew Murray announced Wednesday that no charges will be filed against Officer Brently Vinson in the September 20 shooting of Keith Lamont Scott.

The shooting touched of days of protests and violence in the city.

Murray said officers were working undercover at The Village at College Downs, when one officer said he witnessed Scott with drugs and a gun.

The officers said they identified themselves as police officers and gave clear and repeated verbal commands for Scott to drop the gun. They said Scott refused to follow the officers' commands.

Body cam and dashcam video showed Scott getting out of his vehicle and backing away from the vehicle, while ignoring the officers' verbal commands to drop the gun.

Officer Vinson perceived his actions to be an imminent physical threat and fired his weapon, police said.

Police Chief Kerr Putney has said a gun was found at the scene, and a lab analysis of the weapon revealed the presence of Scott's DNA and his fingerprints on the gun. It was also determined that the gun Scott possessed was loaded at the time of the encounter with the officers.

Both Vinson and Scott are black."

Goalposts moved - witnessed with DRUGS AND A GUN.

    Lol.

So having a firearm is enough to merit summary execution.

(*)(*)(*)(*) America. What a joke this is. We need to hold these slimy schutzstaffel accountable when they summarily execute civilians like this. We have due process - DENIED. We have a right to be armed - DENIED. We have a right to liberty and life - DENIED.

The truth needs to be known, and the "let it slide coz they're cops" attitude needs to be eradicated. These scum are public servants, not hitlerian gestapo, and we need to reign them in.

If you are a thug with gun, holding a gun while being ordered to drop the gun...

Then blast away at them. Shoot to kill.

Good riddance. Just like the radical Islamic terrorist imported by Kerry and Obama at Ohio State who was thankfully shot and killed.

It's a crime to be in possession of a firearm and an illegal drug at the same time. It gave them probable cause to arrest him.

Another minor problem, he was a felon in possession of a stolen firearm. The folks who lied about being witnesses need to be prosecuted. They didn't find his Bible but they did find his stash of drugs and money at his shack job's digs along with their illegitimate child.

I hate to break it to you, but the guy was aiming a loaded gun at a police officer and ignoring requests to put it down. I can almost guarantee you will meet the same fate if you go out and aim a gun at a police officer. The police officer can't tell if the gun is loaded or not and is not going to be able to tell if someone - who is already ignoring his requests to drop the weapon - is going to shoot.

Scott was a convicted felon in possession of a stolen firearm and drugs. Let's stop pretending that he was some innocent bystander who became the victim of a rage filled authoritarian.

It's time to start cleaning up these communities and stop making martyrs of these criminals.

No, he was not aiming at anyone. Both of his arms were down by his side.

So you are saying he was shot in the car and that was it. Officers approaches the car, see the gun on his leg, and kills him right there.

Do you know how fallacious the premise of your statement is? Or do you just know what is a lie of omission?

And anyone of them who made false statements to officer, and claiming you saw something when in fact you only heard about it on social media is giving a false statement to the police, should be prosecuted to the FULL extent because of what we see of the consequences. The wife should be charged with giving false statements about him never having a weapon and lying about the book.

Which matters not a twit as to the shooting being justified.

So your point is that it the victim being a felon justifies his being shot by the cops even though he is not threatening them.

    Xenamnes
Did the video not show the suspect pointing his firearm at the police officers, thus constituting a threat against them?

    superbadbrutha's
Your fighting a lost cause, these are the same folks who will make excuses if they shoot someone who is not armed. The deciding factor is the color of the skin with these folks.

    CourtJester
What evidence? You haven't been able to find any except police saying drop the gun. That is all you have ever been able to prove. No video of gun in hand. No video showing threat to police. And lots of video that haven't been released. A very, very weak case at best.

So any of our fellow posters care the continue the thread including but not limited to those above?

my buddies and me got hemmed up by the police one night. I happened to be holding a pack of Camel Lights and a Zippo lighter. The cops had guns drawn and told me to drop it & get down on the ground. I hesitated and said "it's just a pack of smokes." One of the officers replied "Do you want to die for a pack of smokes?" Needless to say I dropped my Camels and hit the pavement.

They turned out to be stand up guys and after they determined we were kids being stupid they sent us on our way.

Come on TJ, you can't try and defend this. The guy was a felon, with drugs, holding a gun.

Glad you have had a change of heart.

What do you think should happen to the persons who gave false statements to the police and then to the public instigating the riots and damages caused?

    What did I change from?

Probably the same thing you do about the police who give false statements and reports on folks they have falsely arrested.

For instance the one example I posted above.

Which is jail. So is that what you think should happen to citizens who give false reports to police claiming someone murder someone else? What should happen to the wife who said he had not had a gun for over two years yet they found text messages the day before of them talking about the weapon he owned. What should happen to her and be specific not what should happen to her if something else.

    What example was that?

They should be charged with making a false statement.

What does the law say should happen to her if she makes a false statement?

Now why do you want to see her prosecuted, but you don't want the same Justice applied when a LEO makes a false statement.

The police is unable to prove he had the gun in his hands, dispite all the video's around, let alone he raised his gun at the police. And according to the autopsy report he only used prescription drugs.

You or the police can not prove he was being a criminal at the time he got executed. Hence he is innocent.
