many did, but that doesn't mean more wanted Trump as the results show

Trump won fair and square, don't get me wrong, he just did not win the popular vote

I don't normally watch tv, but I bought an antenna to connect to one of my monitors to watch the Olympics. I was stunned by the non-stop Clinton commercials. I didn't see a single Trump commercial. I actually think the amount the Democrats spent is understated. I think they are (and should be) thoroughly embarrassed by Trump literally beating them into the ground with what has to be the most efficient and effective campaign in recent history as they just basically burned money. I think the media outlets were purposely fudging the results of their polls to bilk the Democrats out of more and more money by pretending how well the commercials were working. The useful idiots, of course, bragged about how much money the Democrats were raising and spending and laughed at Trump for having so much less. I did enjoy the looks on their faces election night.

Big Mandate, Trump won 2600 counties. Clinton won less than 500. Clinton has won far fewer than any popular vote winner over the past century.

Or both teams in the world series score 27 runs each but one team wins...

I don't see why the donors are upset? Clinton won the popular vote and isn't that what they wanted? They wanted to make her popular so she could... ummmmm.... so .... ummmmm well, she's really popular in California.

Maybe she can use the Clinton Foundation to raise money and give her donors a rebate.

To add: The Jeb Bush donors aren't feeling too swell themselves.

Which of course means nothing in our election system.

She got more votes because of NYC and California. And California and New York do not get to decide who is president for the other 48 states. Hence, the electoral college. No one cares if she got the popular vote because she still lost. She knew it was the electoral votes that COUNTED. Did she turn any red states blue? Did Trump turn blue states red? You can comfort yourself all you want with the popular vote thing, but in the scheme of things, after looking at the map, Americans spoke.

And the world's biggest ball of twine in 2013 was in Cawker City, Kansas.

No one cares about that either.

I remember at one point in time there was at least one new thread a week about "the end of the republican party."

Record 95,055,000 Americans Out Of The Labor Force

It takes a willful disconnect with reality to believe that where we are is headed anywhere but down.

Warren's platform would likely be free stuff paid for with other peoples money.

Yes but as all these young people graduate and actually go out into the workforce they will quickly understand that it is THEIR tax dollars going to pay for the free stuff given to the lazy. As they turn older they will become more conservative only to be replaced by more young people who think socialism is the way to go and the cycle will repeat.

First off, part of me is glad Hillary lost, only because I love watching people who are a sure-thing fail. If Bernie was running and lost, That would be heartbreaking.

That said, I think this should be a very clear message to the Dems that they need to do a couple of things

    1) Clean house at the DNC. Seriously, there is no way they can be viewed in any legitimate light in lieu of the the disastrous Primary.

    2) Realize that they pretty much have their locked states Locked, and start actually trying in both swing states and *gasp* try and make some serious inroads into solid red states. Go down and meet people you know aren't going to vote for you. Don't try and persuade them to vote for you. Just go down and listen to them talk, make notes and leave. You won't win them over in any way on the short term, but if you keep doing this and start trying to meet them half-way, you might be surprised long term.

Otherwise, I hope that Donald does well as when your country does well, so does mine. Plus he might actually approve some stuff that I'm personally invested in (Keystone for example).

We have a representative republic not a democracy so popular vote numbers largely from densely populated liberal urban areas are irrelevant. In our form of government people across the country from sea to shining sea are supposed to be represented by their elected officials and it's painfully obvious or at least should be, that Hillary and her values don't represent the values of America at large.

A footnote at best and means nothing except that Hillary is very popular in densely populated liberal urban areas. Like we didn't know that?

means Trump lost the popular vote, that is what it means, Trump is one of the few in our history that has done that, the last one was Bush

To be honest you may have to get used to this phenomenon as these populations of liberals become more isolated from mainstream America. This may become the norm.

I was thinking that too and the popular vote pendulum could swing drastically if Trump is successful in curing some of the ills of the inner city and lifting blacks in these areas out of generational poverty and into the mainstream of society. It could be the end of the Democrats death grip on minorities in general and blacks in particular and could shift the popular vote dynamic in at least some of these deep blue cities.

very well could, Trump could be a great President, only time will tell, but the most that last is 8 years even if so, we had 8 great years under Clinton and then got Bush

Then again many of us saw the real reasons the economy did fine with Clinton there and he didn't get credit from us. We also saw him ignore terrorism and let it grow and fester and we were sick of the corruption and general sleazy tone of things in the white house

were talking about donors here not voters. Voters might care about semantics like that. Donors only care that they are not getting the payoff.

Um . . . Dem Party leadership -- in the form of the Leftist-Allied Mainstream Media -- signaled earlier this week that they were getting a belly-full of Warren and her shrillness and hysteria over every hot button topic. So . . . no. Sorry. The Left is not going to win back the presidency in 2020 by going with yet another All Image and No Substance candidate.
