Why are leftists so condescending?

Why are leftists so condescending? They are smug too. Is there a way to have intelligent conversations with leftists? I guess leftists are like that because se they believe they will always have the biggest gun. Your take? Discuss.

Have you ever found a Trump supporter who is intellectually competent? Or rather, not found one in emotional distress?

 

Do you mean leftists or progressives? I'm Independent but generally support the left these days. So if you want to have a discussion based on facts go ahead. But it is hard to take you seriously when you start a thread by attacking the left.

 

Case in point. Duh Ironically that's coming from a poster who during the primaries justified and called for violence against Trump supporters.

 

It's self-righteousness. They are absolutely convinced that their ever-deepening PC, their unwavering willingness to sacrifice others for the sake of their idiotic utopian ideas and their generosity with other people's money make them morally superior. Most of these imbeciles live in their mom's basements and look down on us mere mortals from their high horses.

 

You all can keep up the nonsense or have a discussion. Here I am. What do you want to know?

 

Whys is the right so stupid? They think their spin is fact because their handlers "said it". They're loyal to their handlers and party whom they ask to think for them. They typically can't spell and can't construct a proper sentence. Yes there are exceptions. There are exceptions to everything. But the trend is lies, stupidity, arrogant attacks, vilification, total lack of human compassion, inability to reason logically, and self-congratulations.

 

Lets test that.

When I was a voting for only Democrats, Democrat, I was not smug. I was positive the republicans are evil. The rich must be despised. If it made money tax the daylights out of it.

But wait, I tripped over a book that changed my life. I was shocked at how full of dung I had been for a very long time. If you are 18 and vote Democratic, I forgive you. At age 30 you can still be deluded. I changed at age 42. I recall it due to the election of Reagan. I had voted against the man to be governor. Later I voted for him.

I had really made a major error going against him to begin with.

Democrats are certain they are correct. They can't be changed by posters. The kindest republican will not sway them. They see republicans as 100 percent evil. They think we hate the poor. They really do believe we hate our women and their women.

I suggest they can't break the cycle unless they look over what they believe and check to see why and if they can examine the truth of Democrats. Dig and they become republicans.

This one book belongs in the 8 grade classes of all schools.

One of this nations best all time books.

 

The better question is ..."Why are conservatives so pompously obnoxious"?

I said when I was a Democrat, i was not then smug. Nothing I studied since made me smug. I was certain as Democrats are that I was then right.

I am able to be critical of any party today.

I think you are critical just of republicans.

 

As an independent, do you support the left based on their race baiting or gender baiting policies... or is it open borders and outsourcing perhaps? I haven't missed anything, have I?

 

I was smug AND condescending. The worst of it was that I railed against ideologues who dismiss 'the other' out of hand, at the same time as dismissing conservatives as ignorant and uncaring bigots. I didn't KNOW if that's what they were, I simply believed the rhetoric from my side. It was only when I started meeting intelligent, educated, and liberal minded rightists who care more than I ever did (despite my certainty that I was one of the good guys ... the ultimate ego trip), that I addressed the profound mistake I'd made. Still a long way to go, but at least now I can be a leftist who weighs both sides.

 

They believe they know better than others. Liberal progressivism has became a religion chock full of dogma. I have heard the word "moral" thrown around by libs lately along with their faux patriotism. It is all nonsense. They believe they know what is best for everyone and around re entitled to lord over the common folk.

Their condescendingness and smugness is just an act to hide their despair at seeing their babe Hillary whupped by The Donald.
As for debating, there's an old saying on the debating boards circuit- never waste your time trying to debate with a lefty, atheist, religious fanatic, drunk or junky.
If they think they've got the biggest gun, that's just bravado, it may make a lot of noise but it mostly fires hot air..
