You're right $$$ talk, that's why 75% of your resources are owned by foreigners..namely us with our corporations and your economy, if you call it that is 80%+ dependant on ours.

Even eastern Canada imports oil from the middle east. It's easier to import it than ship it from Alberta and Sassykatchewan, so I doubt that folks in Boston are burning gasoline made from Canadian oil. As far as electricity goes, yes, New York and New England rely on power from Hydro-Québec, but we have a continental grid. They can always get power elsewhere. Just sayin'

Trump doesn't have a backbone.. just a big mouth.

The world is awash in crude oil.. unless you want domestic producers to go bust, its stupid to drill in the arctic.. Its too expensive and hazardous.

You keep talking like that. If oil firms will go bust, they will not drill. The ban is a total waste of effort.

    - - - Updated - - -

What you are saying is Obama wasted his effort and our time. It will get revoked.

    That's what I just said.

Trump might 'revoke' it, but Trump would be playing a spite game .. He doesn't know jack chit about the oil business.

Is your main interest to keep oil prices sky high?

    That harms the economy.

Oil companies are a business. They can't sell oil or gasoline for less than it costs them to extract and refine. Further, their profit margin has historically remained at less than 8%.. compared to most business margins of 12-17%.

Are you a socialist? Do you really want the government to subsidize gas at the pump for you? That's why Venezuela is a failed state.

You proved one more time you dread answering questions yet love asking them,.

So what did I ask you?

Prices vary wildly inside the USA. I have left CA with sky high prices and drove in Texas and points East and paid much less. Crude is not the reason. We could get prices as cheap in CA as Tx if it were crude. We need oil from AK yet people like Obama ban us from that source.

How about we cross off the ME as suppliers given you say there is too much oil? We might for instance stick to our own oil sources?

Every state has a different tax structure added to gasoline.

What is it about production costs that you don't understand?

What is it that you don't understand about market demand?

There is a twelve and half cent difference in TX tax, not the almost 60 cents we pay different.

What do you not understand that crude has a nearly fixed price compared to prices at the pump.

Is it socialism in CA keeping prices so high?

That's the one place that SHOULD be drilling. Let's be real, it's a desolate arctic wasteland.

Didn't Obama issue an executive order to ban all oil exploration in the solar system for all of eternity? I'm sure there was a story about it on NPR a short while ago.

We don't buy much oil from OPEC... Most of the oil we import comes from Canada and Mexico or Venezuela.

US oil is expensive that's why Texas oil and North Sea crude has always been more per barrel than OPEC.

Thanks but all of that is well known to me.

What I want you to explain is why would big oil back Obama who clearly wants to shut off domestic oil supply to the country, not merely today, but if he has it his way, forever?

Worse than that, even off both coasts, and around Alaska plus the Arctic. Obama hates this country having ample oil supplies domestically supplied.

Because there is a glut of oil without tapping the arctic or the Atlantic.

    - - - Updated - - -

LOLOLOL.. Think about it. You don't get to dictate when and where oil companies drill.

And they don't want to drive the ppb down and put themselves out of business.

One thing about such posts that makes things very clear.

    1. We are all dealing with a rich person deeply invested in oil.
    2. Said person does not care at all what the situation is for those making legal incomes as low as one poster reported, $740 per month. And the Feds do not give him even minimum wage.
    3. Even blocking our own oil companies from drilling gives her joy.

I don't personally wish oil firms to lack for profits. 10 percent profit on $10 per bbl is lower than 10 percent on $200 per bbl.

If I can buy fuel cheaper, why is that wrong?

If it's unsafe and uneconomical, there's no reason to ban it; the companies won't drill there.

    Let the market decide.
