    Ivanka Trump Chinese shoe factory is now moving to Africa

    It can employ five Ethiopians at its factory near Addis Ababa for the price of one Chinese worker

    Profits more important making them there shoes in the good ole USA. :steamed::steamed:

    I always look for the silver lining, that being, it's five more jobs Ivanka Trump created than MooShell Obama created for Ethiopia and five Ethiopians!

    If Trump is serious about his campaign claims, Ivanka's shoes should be made in the USA. In this particular case, Trump is hypocritical.

    PS: I haven't shopped for sneakers in years. Since when did a pair of athletic shoes made in China start costing $100? I would think at that price, they could afford a few more dollars for US workers. Think about it: what might we assume the cost of producing a pair of sneakers might be?
    1. materials - $10
    2. assembly - ?
    3. packaging - $2
    4. distribution - $5

    Looks like there's a lot of room to play with labor.

    It's actually a Chinese shoe company which is associated with the Ivanka brand. The Chinese are spreading the wealth around in Africa and making Africa great again.

    I don't think you understand the business. The owner of the manufacturer is Zhang Huarong. It is his shoe factory, not Trumps.

    The factory is owned by a Chinese businessman, Zhang Huarong. It isn't Ivanka's to move or not move.

    It is as if you bought a basket of strawberries at the grocery store, then were accused of producing them in Mexico. You are skipping over a few middle-men because you don't understand the business. And also because you are suffering Trump-phobia.
