A friend of 'Mr Yaqub' (the so-called BBC unfailingly gives a title to criminals but often forgets to give it for ordinary folk ) said 'He wasn't perfect but he didn't deserve this.' How many times have we heard that said as a eulogy for mad-dog psychopaths when they meet with an untimely end? Or that they were 'colourful characters'? And now, as usual, the legal fraternity will make a fortune when the inevitable prolonged inquiry starts.

This is 21st century United Kingdom - read it and weep for us.

Are we supposed to feel bad for the drug dealer?

 

He was armed. That was the basis for the police operation, not his dealing in drugs.

 

Whatever, he's been wasted so goodbye to a bit more human scum who gets a lucrative living from the misery and deaths of others, especially kids. Well he won't be doing it any more!

I read the whole story and it sounds like because they heard he owned a gun, they killed him 1st and checked later?

Does England have due process? That would be murder here, even with how much grey area our officers get.

Dealing drugs has inherent risks. Perhaps he should have sought a career with a lesser chance of being shot.

PS: Isn't it against the law to have a gun in England? Is there something wrong with the common sense gun law there? Didn't Yasser read the gun free zone signs?

 

Because...... that always works out. Prohibition doesn't work, whether guns or drugs. Due process came to fruition through thousands of years of figuring out the hard way. And I seriously doubt this is protocol, even across the pond. The article wreaks of only part of the story.

I want everyone from America who originally didn't care because they read "drug dealer" to seriously think about the fact that this was a statement of, "own a gun and get killed right off the bat".

This is basically what the left would like to do here if they could have total control.

Maybe because your taxes weren't right. Maybe because you thought you were on BLM but the land turned out to be private property when you shot the buck. Maybe because your wife was coming at you with a knife and then she called the cops on you for grabbing her. You all know the drill.

Even if people want to slaughter drug dealers, I would just like to know with some sort of certainty the guy was one 1st. That's all I'm saying.

'Due process' means the police get away scot-free every time someone is shot by them. Fortunately death by cop is relatively rare here as our police are not routinely armed with firearms in the majority of cases.

I thought the police don't have guns there? Only in special circumstances?

I can't help but wonder if their fear of fire arms leads to an anxiousness when in a situation where they're involved.

 

Our beat police have never been routinely armed (in fact they routinely vote against it), otherwise I fear that we could end up with America's appalling record.
