Another thing the Steelers have won 6 Super Bowls but 4 of those wins came in the NO SALARY CAP ERA!!

The Steelers have only 2 Super Bowl Wins in the Salary Cap Era Super Bowl XL 2005 and Super Bowl XLII 2008.

The Patriots have 4 Super Bowl Victories ALL IN THE SALARY CAP ERA Super Bowls 2001 (XXXVI), 2003 (XXXVIII), 2004 (XXXIX), 2014 (XLIX)!!!

The Patriots have 8 Super Bowl Appearances.

    Playoff appearances (24)

    AFL: 1963
    NFL: 1976, 1978, 1982, 1985, 1986, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016

    Division championships (19)

Many years ago before the NFL Salary Cap Teams could spend as much as the wanted on their players and this meant that teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys and San Fran 49ers and even the Dolphins would out spend teams like the New England Patriots, Detroit Lions and other teams by so much money those teams that could not match those other teams spending of players salary simply could not compete and so one must really look at whether teams like the Steelers and Cowboys Super Bowl Wins in the 60's, 70's and 80's can really be called accomplishments especially when the deck was so stacked as basically these teams BOUGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS.

But I don't think many people can argue what the New England Patriots have done playing in 8 Super Bowls winning 4 and playing in 12 AFC Championship Games and winning 8 almost all of this done from the moment Tom Brady took the ball cannot be called one of the greatest achievements by a sports team in HISTORY!!

I am sure that coach Tomlin and his team are focused on the KC game which will be a real challenge to say the least. But as a lifelong Steelers fan I am looking forward to going up to Foxboro and knocking off the Patriots.

The Steelers have played the Patriots 29 times and have won 15. The Patriots have won 2 out of three in the playoffs. The 2003 game was shady to say the least. After watching that game I was amazed at the coaching job done by Belichick. It was as if his defense knew where every offensive play was going. I always liked Belicek as I remembered how he turned the Browns around before they split to Baltimore. As it turned out, Belicek was cheating, bugging team meetings etc., for which he was fined a half a million dollars and should have been suspended for a year or more. That said, Belichick is definitely a great coach and the Pats organization is excellent. Also, your assertion that the Steelers won in the '70s by outspending the other teams is pure bull. They won by drafting great players and having one of the Great coaches in NFL history, Chuck Noll. The Steelers are a class organization who still draft and train players the same way they did when Chuck Noll was coaching. They have learned how to deal with salary caps and have come constantly produced winning football teams for over 40 years. By any measure, they are the class of the NFL. The numbers don't lie. The Patriots need to win a couple more SBs to catch up. Right now they are in with Dallas, The New York Giants and Green Bay. I am hoping that this year they will run the table, win their 7th Super Bowl and put an end to all speculation about who is the best organization in Football. I guess we will find out soon. Cheers

The Patriots should make it to the Superbowl this year. Surely they will make it to the conference game. They've had a very successful season.

One must wonder how they'll be in 2-4 years once Brady leaves and suspectedly Bellechick as well. They won't be A grade anymore, and probably B or C grade

Why would you think that? Maybe Belichick will take another position within the Pats organization after he is done with his coaching career.

The thing is at that point I would think he'd just want out, and he can leave with satisfaction.

Regardless, the Patriots organization is a good one from the top down. They are like a well oiled machine.

Ive been a Jets fan since I was a little kid. Its been a torture session but I am like a moth to a flame and cant give up my loyalty to them. I never will.

I remember years ago when you couldn't find a Patriots fan around my area. The team played and acted clownish. They became a true testament to turning things around with skilled people who know the business and know how to get the most out of their talent. I give them a tremendous amount of credit.

    All that being said,

Wishful thinking, but not impossible. A steelers packers (or cowboys) superbowl would be incredibly boring. The NFC would destroy the steelers. The Pats are the AFC favorites for an AFC Super Bowl title. Not the steelers lol

I disagree. If you look at how the Steelers are playing, they would have a 50/50 chance vs Dallas or GB. It would come down to a turnover, bad ref call or luck.

Defending Antonio brown means you sacrifice pressure up the middle when you have safety help over the top. Bell's the only threat they have against the Cowboys defense, which is likely to shut him down. Dallas would smack the steelers IMO.

Yes anyone could say it's a "50/50" since it's two teams, but realistically, I'd put 100 bucks on Dallas any day with the Steelers. Not that I see the Steelers making it to the SB.

You forgot about Atlanta, not to mention Seattle. Even so, If Pittsburgh beats KC and New England on the road to get into the show, they will be either a pick or favorites to win number 7. There is still a lot of football to be played. We will take 'em one at a time and see what happens. It should be interesting and entertaining. Outside of Houston, I think any of the seven teams left have a pretty good chance.

Yea I mean let's face it, if big Ben can throw it to Antonio Brown. The game is over, Pittsburgh wins. If they have to rely solely on Bell, it'll be tough. I see Pitt winning KC. Might need to get your tight end involved against them since their backfield has improved so much.

Eli Rodgers, Demarcus Ayres, and Jason Hayward-Bey have all made huge contributions in the last 8 games along with Jesse James. Shutting down Brown will not stop our passing attack. If they double or triple cover Brown Ben will burn them by throwing to his other receivers and Bell. The key is that our O-line is healthy and are excellent pass blockers as well as run blockers. Our only weakness is our talented but very young defensive backs. Old pro's like Alex Smith and especially Tom Brady could wreak havoc unless our front 7 can put some serious pressure on them.

Mr. Rodgers looks better than ever lately and the Packers are a real threat to anyone who plays them from here on out. Coach McCarthy, a Pittsburgher is one of the best in the business, and they have some real game breakers on defense. They could certainly go all the way.

There's one way to beat Brady. Pressure. If there's no pressure, Brady wins. If a D gets in his face all game. Not good

I also believe the AFC Championship Game will be Steelers/Patriots as Houston....well they simply do not have what it takes to beat the Patriots and when they played the Patriots this season when they had all their players healthy and J.J. Watt was also playing as he is out for the season now well the Texans absolutely got their asses handed to them by the Patriots who had to use their 3rd string Quarterback Jacoby Brissette as that game was one of the 4 Brady had to sit out and the score ended up being Patriots 27 Texans 0......and it was an absolute BLOWOUT!!

Now the Texans do not have Watt on the field and Brady is playing so Vegas is giving 16 points to the Texans.

The Chiefs are another issue all together for the Steelers and even though I think the Steelers will pull out a win I think it will be very close and the Steelers could very easily lose this game if they are not focused!!

But here is the thing......the Patriots would rather play Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game than the K.C. Chiefs!!

    Why?

Because for some reason the Patriots always seem to have trouble with the Chiefs where in comparison the Pittsburgh Steelers have been basically Tom Brady and the Patriots WHIPPING BOYS as the Steelers have lost ever single playoff game to the New England Patriots since that 2001-2002 Season AFC Championship Game and honestly.....IF the Steelers can get by the Chiefs I think it would be best if Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin stock up on some ointment for the team because the Patriots and Tom Brady will be waiting whips in hand!! LOL!!!

    JJJJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY......EEEEEEEE.....TTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.......SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

The Sports Media is saying that IF both the Patriots and the Cowboys play each other in this coming Super Bowl it will be the most watched Super Bowl of ALL TIME!!!

Given the Demographics I would tend to agree!!

Now we are still several games away from that and I do not like talking about playing teams in a Super Bowl especially when my Team has not yet beaten the Texans and the Steelers in these playoffs yet....BUT...................the fact is people would be glued to their TV's and flocking all over the world to watch the ageless one Tom Brady try to do what no other Quarterback has ever done and that would be to WIN HIS 5TH SUPER BOWL!!!!

Bill Belichick if the Patriots do go to the Super Bowl this year would be trying to win his 7th SUPER BOWL CHAMPION RING!!

Bill has 2 Super Bowl Championship Rings with the Giants and 4 with the Patriots already and Bill has gone to 8 Super Bowls winning 6....thus if the Pats go and win Bill will have 7 SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS and have gone to 9!!

Tom Brady has 4 Rings and has gone to 6 Super Bowls so Tom if he goes and wins would have 5 RINGS and 7 Super Bowl Appearances which would be the most in history for a Quarterback.

And it is hard to find anyone out there who would deny that TOM BRADY IS THE GOAT!!! THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!

The thing is and I am not trying to take any Super Bowl victories away from the Steelers but the reality is the Steelers won 4 of their 6 Super Bowls in the NO SALARY CAP ERA!!!

Now they have won 2 during the Salary Cap era and I commend them for those victories but personally I am of the opinion that we really need to ONLY look at the Super Bowl Victories that Teams have had since the NFL instituted a SALARY CAP!!

Now I know your a hardcore Steelers Fan and of course I am a Hardcore Patriots Fan but I think you would agree that before the Salary Cap teams like the Steelers, Cowboys, Giants, 49ers....etc.....well they were all trying to BUY SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

I mean I don't blame them as there was no salary cap existing at that time but still it does take away from the Super Bowl victories when most teams in the NFL were spending in some cases LESS THAN 1/4 the money on players than the Steelers and Cowboys...etc.

So if you look at what teams have won the most often and the most Super Bowls since the Salary Cap was put into effect only one team stands out the most and that is the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS with 4 Super Bowl Victories and I think 7 out of the 8 Super Bowl appearances the Patriots had were in the salary cap era as well.

But I guess we will all see this year and I look forward to it as if the Steelers can get to Foxborough I am sure the class of the league will show up!!

By the way that Class is wearing #12!! LOL!!!
