Trump has been unflinchingly supportive of Russia and Putin from day one. It is virtually the only position that he didn't outright flip on or drastically walk back. It is such that prominent members of his own party have expressed their distaste for it.

This report basically states that Trump has had a very close working relationship with Putin and Russian interests for a long time, that Trump's camp and Putin worked in concert during the election, and that since Trump has much more to lose than Putin, Putin has him by the balls.

Putin doesn't want to ruin Trump, especially if he is going to lose. If Trump loses he is a political superstar: He travels to rallies, gives interviews, tweets, probably starts his own cable channel. All the while he is Russia's biggest advocate and Hillary's biggest pain in the ass. Meanwhile, he can add fuel to the fire by releasing the info hacks so that the Hillary hate hits a fever pitch. Trump is a political megastar with little of the pesky oversight that comes with being president, and Putin will have lots of access.

All Trump has to do is lose.

... you still have not realized that the world does not really revolve around Washington DC only!
... that there are other countries and their services that can and can do the same as the American services do since decades!
... that it is for a lot of what the US has done to others, sometimes comes the "payback"!
... that the United States has been dancing in Russia's front garden for about 20 years and has given a crap about what Russia thinks about it!
... that Putin is not Yelcin and has enough to be ignored like under Clinton, Bush Jr. and Obama
... that even for Syria the USA is not allowed to complain anything what Russia does there, because here the USA has first to look intio a mirror about their own crimes of same sort for what they blame Russia!
... that for Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea the USA has to shut up too! A) Putin announced this still years before when first time in discussion that Ukraine maybe become NATO member and B) if anyone in Central America is becoming friend to a for the US hostile country, the US will do the same ... ehm ... sorry, still did all the time in the past as in Niceragua, Honduras, Grenada ...

I figure by lunch, Buzzfeed will have discovered this post, and run with the story. Then I can sit back, each Cheetos, drink Pepsi and laugh my ass off watching liberal pundits demand Congressional Hearings while mommy cooks me lunch and washes my clothes. Then I can play an on-line game of Dungeons and Dragons with some grade school kids, update my fake profile on Singles.com, see if my government assistance check has arrived and send some anti-Trump Tweets.

You know...........being a liberal for a day might be fun.

The only correct answer is number 4. That's why it's so hard to believe the Russians would hack the DNC and then run to Wikileaks to release all of the information they acquired. That isn't really standard practice. The information is devalued if your adversary knows you have it, and if you decide to blow your load for no apparent benefit.
