I shall tell you why... Because the French and Spanish fishermen will be illegally fishing in our territorial waters. A form of theft! They will be repeatably warned away & they will repeatably violate our sovereign waters. I know this is true as they do this to-day and over fish our waters. A friend of mine, her husband is a member of the UK coast guards and they repeatably catch French & Spanish trawlers over fishing & exceeding the quotas, this despite EU quotas... So they will not change their behaviour. So there you are ... WAKE UP to the truth! The only people living in the past are possibly yourself & the French & Spanish fishermen.

Thank you for your posts. Until I hit yours, I thought it was still April Fool's day - the only time the earlier posts would be valid - as a joke. Thus far, only England has "Shot itself in the foot" with nationalism - and only by a thin margin. Germany and France will have elections soon, let us hope sanity prevails and the pre-world-war mentality stays in the past. We have our flag-waving droolers in the US, but they are a minority that got lucky with archaic election rules.
