"Nature's way" would be things like Ebola or the plague or even a giant tsunami. Wars are just humans going full retard.

Oh I couldn't agree more. I've been convinced for a long time that humankind is slowly going insane; there are just too many signs of it to persuade me otherwise. There are those who have become childlike, and will believe anything those whom they perceive as intelligent tell them. I blame dumbing down, and too much chewing-gum-for-the-brain entertainment.

Oddly enough I've just remembered this - I watched Idiocracy last night. [IMG]

Heat? Iceland relies on thermal vents to heat its cities-well Reykjavik does anyway.

This thread should just be thrown in the bin. It first talks about liquid carbon deep down in Earth. Then magically that carbon is erupted as carbon dioxide - how? Does the author know that at the centre of the Earth molten iron is also believed to exist along with molten other compounds? Is this the latest attempt to debunk GW?

War: designed by humans, generally for vast profits.

    Nature: balanced, self preserving, life-giving.

More fake news. And which housewife is Margi Murphy? Is Amazon still paying these people for clickbait? The gloom and doom crowd never tires of these stories.

Is this the super volcano below Yellow Stone, or some other death trap of nature that we can do nothing about?

Seriously, nobody seems to see where this is leading. More dire warnings about Fracking.

    Under the western US eh?
Smells like the gates of hell.
    Best location possible........right under Hollywood.

Actually war is natures way of getting rid of an overabundance of males.
Unfortunately since the advent of modern warfare it doesn't seem to work quite the way it did before.
Thus more frequent and longer lasting conflicts.
We used to eliminate the males of the opposing regime and take their women as trophies of war.
Thus satiating the testosterone driven need for conquest.
I think we should go back to that format.
It's not genocide when you incorporate the opponents dna into your own.

Nothing to do with fracking. We can't reach or even effect the upper mantle by any type of drilling.

I read articles like this and think to myself. I wonder how much money we wasted on this. I compare the study to a company bringing a new consumer product to the marketplace for the first time and think, gee, could this sell? If it sells, who might the consumers be, and then most importantly, how many re orders are likely.

In the world of science, the conversation may likely be somewhat different, but substantively, it isn't any different. It goes something like this. This is my "initial finding". There is "substantive risk". There is real world sustainability impact to our "initial findings". If only there were an organization or government willing to futher fund our investigation in order to more fully develop these findings.

Now, if they'd appended a cool new method for deep high level mantel mining that could get us access to the theoretical diamonds....

I'm a lot more worried about a boiling lake of bull (*)(*)(*)(*) that simmers in the liberal minds in this country. Nothing else poses such a clear and present danger as the crap that cooks in their brains.

Simply a new contingency to plan for.

If everyone is so worried about climate change why haven't we developed large upper atmospheric based scrubbers?

Massive scrubbers using the jet streams as a means of scrubbing the air naturally by forcing air through the object. A hydrogen based propulsion system when jet streams break up. Something humanity could not only be proud of but would give us an incredible amount of scientific information. It could teach us how gerns in the upper atmosphere are moved across continents. It could teach us how the magnetic poles effect the upper atmosphere. We could analyze asteroid debris hanging in the atmosphere. There's so many useful things we as a species could do to actually be prepared one day for climate change, earth or man made.

These could also be structures attached to the earth, it would be an engineering marvel of humanity, but completely possible.

We wouldn't be burning down villages in Uganda to replace them with carbon credit based tree farms. We might accomplish something that isn't destroying the lives of others.

Sucks when you care about the environment and you see the real problem not being massive businesses, but the liberal hordes that attack them, they aren't helping and they feel good about it. They support those carbon based tree farms, unbeknownst to them the displacement and murder they cause, they aren't trying to save anything. They are simply trying to get social brownie points.

Diamonds are in abundance in certain countries who limit the amount on the market in order to keep the prices high. Size is not important because they are cut to very small size for drills etc

Considering that the deepest hole ever drilled was a little more that 12 km, I'm not too concerned.

. . . and always in flux? Sometimes though, nature needs a helping hand because prodigious human breeding outpaces it.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that our core is surrounded by just such material.

    Wow.
