In another sign of total disrespect of the Office of the President, after Trumps speech, democrats pretty much ran out of the Capitol. IMO they were totally shell shocked at his brilliant speech. They probably already were burning the midnight oil trying to come up with their usual group think on what they can say against what he said. Democrats showed their colors when they wouldnt applaud or stand for things like improving the economy, fighting ISIS, and supporting laws on the books. What was really sad is when they wouldnt stand to honor the wife of the SEAL that was killed. The only good thing about the performance of the democrats last night, was the whole country could see just how anti-American they are.

After that speech democrats should plan on getting on board the trump train. This has all of the makings of being a once in a lifetime success. Dems are going to need to claim ownership of some of trumps policies if they wish to be relevant again.

I don't know what they thought they could achieve.They should act like grownups, unite behind what they agree with and GOVERN. That would be a start in the right direction instead of looking juvenile and quite frankly, like clowns, not only in front of Americans but the world.
Looking forward to 2018 with anticipation that it follows the usual pattern of punishing the party in power. And there are sound reasons to believe that it will because already republicans are feeling the backlash that will come down on their heads if they dare to repeal Obamacare and deny their own members healthcare. On top of that Trump is becoming a major recruiting tool for the Dems. They haven't had this much interest from volunteers since 1968. Then there is the economy. Trump has already harmed job creation by eliminating the funding for solar panels which was responsible for 1 in 50 new jobs under Obama. The economy is way overdue for a recession and the stock market is heading for a bubble right now. If there is a recession voters will take out their job losses on republicans in a big way in 2018. So yes, in 20 months time the elections should prove to have actual consequences for the party in power.
