You appear a bit confused. How can I be 'taking' from you when -

    a) I pay taxes.
    b) Contibute to Medicare by paying the Medicare levy.
    c) Don't receive any government benefits or welfare.
    d) More than likely live in a differnt hemisphere than you.

    Answer me that.

You willing to pay the highest tax rates?
You willing to have your income slashed by the same percentage that you would have the physicians cut by, to satisfy your lust for their labor?

Same here in Britain. I could have a triple heart by-pass, ongoing post-op care and it wouldn't have cost me a penny, apart from the very small amount of National Insurance contribution taken from my salary each month.

Maybe your physicians are only in it for the money. Our physicians do the job because they care about their vocation more than cash.

So it's ok to cut their income, to give you what you want?

But Tylenol sold in the drug store is dirt cheap and it's sold for profit.

The drug store does not have to give it away for free to people that can not pay.

You can go to another drug store if you don't like a price, but once you're in a hospital, they can charge whatever, because you are captive.

I believe they do require you to sign something in order to be admitted.

Someone else pointed out that it's not just the tylenol you're getting, but everything else involved with it. Complaining about 15 bucks for tylenol is like complaining about 10,000 for the price of a scalpel.

What are the inclusion criteri, methods and analysis for the studies that demonstrate this? Discuss them as if you understand what you are talking about

Oddly enough, one of the pharmacies in Florida does just that for a few prescription drugs.

If you are talking about doctors, they don't donate their time. Their insurance companies wouldn't let them.

Your daughter was fortunate to be born in a country whose population cares for each other. Thank heavens for universal health care.

Where to begin? Separation of church and state? Constitutional amendments? Blatant hypocrisy? The GOP would dearly love to dictate morality, don't pretend that suits you. Enacting a constitutional amendment to universal health care seems a noble pursuit, but equity in individual contributions would need guaranteed as well. For an atheist to invoke Jesus teachings only when it helps further his agenda is laughable. A single atheists objection is responsible for having all Christian teachings removed from schools. Even Christian schools forced to accept non denominational voucher students. Taxes aren't charity.
