    Did anyone mention Tommy Emmanuel, who might be the world's best guitarist?

    Others who should be included on anyone list that I didn't see in many of the early posts in this thread (apologies if they were mentioned):

    Hendrix
    Chet Atkins
    Jerry Reed
    Gabrielle Quevedo
    Sungha Jung
    Keith Urban
    Johnny Cash
    Waylon Jennings
    Mark Knopfler
    Hank Williams
    Hank Williams Jr
    Don Felder
    Lyndsey Buckingham
    Otis Rush
    Albert King
    Keb Mo
    Gary Clark, Jr
    Al McKay, etc, so many others...

    I guess the question for the OP (ancient as it is) would be favorite as to style of music? Best technical ability? Creativity/originality? The criteria I think might need to be more precisely defined and categorized.

    Guns N' Roses got me into music when I was 4 by way of Terminator II: Judgement Day (1991)..
    Then later started playing guitar and listening to Jimi Hendrix...

    There were other great bands who's music made it into my house growing up; Queen, Madness, The Who, The Beatles, Nirvana, Bon Jovi, The Shadows, Eric Clapton.
    As a teen I got into Led Zeppelin and Gilby Clarke and Chuck Berry and Carlos Santana and The Rolling Stones...
    I liked Carlos Santana's tone a lot, I took influence from Europa alone that I cited Carlos Santana as influence behind Slash and Jimi Hendrix, it's that good, like his other stuff like.
    Then later when I was 16 I was heavy into Guns N' Roses and Jimi Hendrix and started a band with this girl I met in college (community college, starts at 16 in my country, and I went); I got into more, like Pantera, Disturbed, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, as well as all that Jimi Hendrix and Slash with my guitar, I mean... Jimi Hendrix was more my thing in college; in 2003/04.
    When I was 20, I had a neat ol' beat up 1960s Framus Hollywood I bought for £30 when I was 14 from a UK chain of pawn shops called Cash Converters; and as that guitar was made playable again, in 2007.. Same year, I, for my 21st birthday gift to myself from myself to reward myself for turning 21, I turned this guitar into the guitar I always planned to with the help of my friends at Feline Guitars of Croydon, England; This guitar custom shop in town, I know the guy, great guy, I think of him as 'my guitar guy/guitar tech'... Started going to his when I was 16 with my first pay check and I wanted straplocks for m first guitar.
    So when I was 21, my guitar was done;
    My 1960's Framus Hollywood 2007 Feline Guitars Customshop Rebuild that I keep in dropped C for fun because the guitar looks so cool and old school.

    I, when I was 14 wanted this for this guitar when I first saw it on the shop floor the day I bought it and haggled them down from £60.00 to £30.00 and paid £15.00 and collected it a week later upon final payment, I got it for £30.00
    I assumed I'd be 80 by the time I got this guitar finished.
    I was 21, young, dumb, and with money...
    I've had a lot of guitars rebuilt and customised with a lot of great parts and in doing so have found much love for
    Tom Morello sounds great.
    Honest to God..
    Almost blew out my eardrums trying to play Tom Morello on Camera this one time... Still hurts when I think about it actually;

    This guitar

    This is a 2000 Epiphone Samick Korea plant 2008 Feline Guitars Customshop rebuild that ATM's in Dropped B

    I love what Slipknot are doing too.

    I also like Dimebag Darrell was amazing as well as Randy Rhodes and Zakk Wylde too;

    I am sure nobody mentionned Jorma Kaukonen, from the Jefferson Airplane - that isn't exactly known for its epic guitar solos.

    Just take a moment to hear what he can do in the following two minutes; sounds like 2 guitarists. WARNING: The video have images that may shock or disgust some people:

    I have such a wide taste - Django Reinhardt, Freddie Green, Wes Montgomery, John Butler, Titi Robin, Gustavo Santaolalla, Andrei Krylov, Custodio Castelo, Paco De Luca, Bella Fleck and Atahualpa Yupanqui.

    If I had to choose any it would be the last one. When he plays you can really taste his native soil which for me is essential for any enjoyment of music.
