I'm agnostic so I have no issues hating every single supporter and member of ISIS. I'm curious how you anti-ISIS Christians view this matter.
That's what I call Christian doublethink. Incidentally - and this isn't in reference to anyone in particular - greedy, sociopathic American conservatives have perfected this.
We did the same with Hitler. Love the person, hate what they do. And if they commit heinous crimes, they need to be eliminated. There is nothing anti-Christian about that. Murder and killing are not synonymous.
"Eliminated." Already you soften it by choice of word. You're talking about killing someone, and in this case lots of someones (IS) based on a label. Innocent people often die in the process as well. Whereas the Christian message is simply to love your enemies and turn the other cheek. Of course, such texts were not written with the formation of any kind of government in mind, so there's that.
I don't believe Jesus ever "commanded" anything ... his father perhaps, but not Jesus. Jesus was a big advocate for "free will". He was also big on "forgiveness of sin". Christian aren't expected to be anything beyond the flawed creatures he created.
