Well, Jun, I didn't say it proved anything; you did. I gave my opinion about underlying motives and fault.

So sorry it ruffles your perfectly coifed feathers to hear someone's opinion that differs from your own.

Grabbing a reporter by the neck with both hands, throwing him down, then getting on top of him and repeatedly punching him while screaming is "partially understandable"?

Um, okay. That's mostly your extreme bias talking.

I have no idea how this will impact the race. It's just a really, really weird thing for a candidate to have done. I haven't heard of something like this since my days covering corrupt politics in Hudson County, New Jersey. At one point, a mayoral candidate in Jersey City beat an opposing campaign worker with a tire iron on the day before the election. What made the story even more out there was that it was two brothers running against each other, and the campaign worker was 80 years old. That candidate spent Election Day in jail.

You call the reporter a manipulative worm because of how he looks to you. That's a laughable way of discussion regardless how you want to put it. Again, I'm not a democrat; this is just bad form.

I thought he said he wants to be the president for everyone? Did he give up on that already? Besides, he spent years insulting and subverting President Obama, weren't you paying attention? Why should anyone show respect to a man who holds an office that he himself has treated with utter contempt?

This is one of the reasons I don't do early voting (unless I am going out of town, etc). Candidates show their true nature in the last days of a campaign, this thug sure did. I hope he loses today, but....lately we have had a disturbing trend of electing thugs.

I called him a manipulative worm for two reasons:

    1. I have no doubt that he didn't comply with the request to drop the mic and question - twice (and it's on tape). I know this because reporters are known for this sort of irritating harassment.

    2. I drew my opinion from how he acted when he recounted the events and his characterization of them; not what he looks like.

    3. And - last - it is my opinion. You're entitled to yours; I am to mine. I supported mine with my thoughts. What did you do - other than shallowly attack mine, that is?

Oh look. Another 'non-democrat'. Real ones must be as rare as hen's teeth. Tell me, Jun, what will I find when I search your posts for your declarations on Trump? Will I find this "poor form" you're clucking about?

You ask your questions as if this is the first time a reporter has been persistent with their questions. Maybe this jackass doesn't know how to deal with public life or pressure from critics. Clearly he is a terrible candidate for public office.

I don't really know. I am commenting on the lack of snowflakes in Montana. They don't get in a tizzy over physical altercations.

    You're free to think otherwise.

I never said he wasn't, and your characterization of my tone is your own fabrication. Leftists are more accomplished at such feats than just about anything else.

But you also don't seem to have the ability to dig deep and access that never ending pool of respect and dignity you claim to value so much wrt to a reporter's acrimonious actions with his mic. You don't know anything about the nature of how he acted.

How long, for instance, would you tolerate a recording device shoved in your face if:

    1. It was close;
    2. It remained there despite requests to remove it and redirect the question to a campaign press sec'y?

If that's how it happened - and we don't know - how long would you tolerate it?

Do you want to test that with me? I bet I can irritate you in 30 seconds. Of course, it's not something that would result in you taking any physical action, but not because you wouldn't want to.

1 Having no doubt sounds quite strong if you want to stick to both reports right? I would not drop the mic either if I was sent there to do my job. I would also say no representative is supposed to resort to violence.

2 Read back your statement. You went by how he looked.

3 You're entitled to your opinion. My personal opinion is that it's laughable to resort to such arguments if you're participating on a supposedly serious political discussion forum. In general, I'm irritated at how people conduct discussions here. I made a topic about it this morning. I've seen a lot more posts that fit the bill, but yours stood out.

I'm Dutch. I can't be a democrat even if I wanted to. I disagree with Trump on various subjects, but I have no partisan reasons to oppose him. But maybe you should take a look around you. I'm sure I'm not the only foreigner here and I'm sure if you look closely that there will be moderates and independents around that can criticise the current president as well.

    Got it.

Suggest screenname change: perhaps something like Veganheart would suit.

Other than it wasn't breaking news. Snowden pretty much took care of that for us. And we also found that it started long before the Obama administration.

So... Yawn..... Did you really think you weren't being spied on?

Don't forget Republican Congressman (and now convicted criminal) Michael Grimm of Staten Island (which is practically New Jersey) who threatened to throw a reporter off a balcony and break him in half - not realizing the camera was still rolling. It's disturbing that this is the direction the Republican party has gone in choosing representatives.

I have no doubt because even the reporter himself did not deny it. What account from either report do you believe draws it into question?

And here, you equivocate the actions of the reporter; in full justification mode. No, reporters are not supposed to be *******s. He was politely told - twice - to drop the mic and redirect the question to someone specific.

Read back my statement. I went by his actions in the interview. Parse how you like; you know what was meant by that.

Are you unable to tell when someone is bullshtting you? That was my read, and my profession relies on such insights.

    Oh, that's nice, forum police.

    So?

Really? I've met plenty of people with opposing political views who still have the decency and self-control not to physically assault me for disagreeing with them. Why can't you speak directly to the topic without erecting straw men to argue about?

Lol, weren't you the one whining just a post ago about your so-called president not getting respect? I don't care that Hillary lost, I care that a complete buffoon won. Ironically we'll all suffer for it, but I'm sure you'll find someone else to blame for his incompetence.

I don't care about the reporter. I literally said, a representative of the people should know better and not resort to violence.

    I quote you here:

" "I've never had a reaction to a health care question like that before", he said, while his face worked to remain placid. Yeah, ok leftist: your face betrayed you. You did not look like you were being totally honest in making that statement."

What actions? You just refered to how he looked to you.

You have no read. No description, no argument, just you thinking he looking like a "manipulative worm".

Take it as you want. It's allowed apparantly to just call someone a "manipulative worm" without an argumentation, but if you want to discuss things seriously, why not try a bit harder? In fact, maybe you would like to respond here. I'm honestly interested in your opinion on these matters:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/outside-observations-on-american-discussions.505639/

You don't get I'm not a democrat because of it? You don't get that you don't have to be a democrat to object to Trump?

Well, I wouldn't be so sure there aren't Democrats who have/would do the same thing.

Here's the story I was talking about. The two people involved (the Manzo brothers) were Democrats, as were 90% of politicians in Hudson County. They were running in a 19-person special election to replace Democrat Gerald McCann, who went to prison on federal charges.
    http://www.nytimes.com/1992/11/04/n...aces-banker-holds-large-lead-jersey-city.html

Sure, this was 25 years ago in a county that was still a stronghold of Democratic machine politics. And it was a fringe candidate. But still.

As an aside, the best part of that whole election was the ad that Louis Manzo ran, where he highlighted the endorsement of his MOTHER. Setting aside the hilarity of bragging that "My mom will vote for me", imagine how ticked off that must have made his brother Allen. I imagine the family gatherings were a little strained after that....
