I'll agree with you on this point, that this is hardly an earth-shattering moment that will resound thru the ages.

However, that was NOT a joke on her part. I didn't even see anything like a smile on her face after she said it, and if it was a joke told by either A) a stone-faced woman or B) someone with so much botox that her face is incapable of smiling, she still wouldn't have expounded on the joke by continuing on by listing other presidents that did travel in alphabetical order. No - she was dead serious. And I dunno - maybe dementia IS setting in. She's gotta be well over 400 by now. :oldman:

It obviously was a joke, and not all jokes are made with a smile, sometimes people make a "serious joke". What she was joking about was that there was absolutely no reason at all to visit them first and couldn't even justify it by saying that it was alphabetical. Sometimes when we can't think of a natural ordering for things we will just go with alphabetical, like a shopping list. She was joking that even that couldn't even be the reason. You have the joke comprehension of Drax the Destroyer.

...and then went on to list people who DID follow her sense of travelling reason. She was serious.

Nah. I watched it again, and I still don't see her making any kind of humor. And above and beyond why she felt the need to comment on why it even matters what order he visits some country or another, I didn't hear anyone laughing in the background so no one else thought it was a joke as well. As near as I can tell, the only people who might find it a joke - are people making excuses for her rather bizarre sense of logic. Because let's face it - anyone who thought that was funny maybe also gets laughs reading the phone book. Or enjoys Adam Sandler movies. Maybe even both.

It reads like a bad attempt at a joke.

When you're voting on a ton of amendments to a bill then that should be obvious as you don't know what amendments will pass.

There you go with your phony self again. You Progs love Pelosi, and Williams, and Watters, and Hillary. You repeat everything they say, addled as it may be.

I particularly like the new one from CNBC:
23 million fewer people would have insurance under GOP health-care bill, CBO says.
    http://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/24/cbo-issues-new-estimates-on-obamacare-repeal-bill.html

Apparently they never thought to question the math: only a little more than 10 million signed up for Obamacare.

Wouldn't the correct way to state that be "we need to see the final version of the bill before we know what's in it"?

Why would you pass something and put your name on it before you know what's in it? Do you sign your taxes before you understand each line of it?

Excuse me as I take care of some personal business...
    :icon_jawdrop::roflol::steamed::wall::machinegun::deadhorse::rant::weed::fishing:
    ... alright I am back.

You see, she said that other presidents visited other countries first and there were good reasons for visiting them first like they were neighbors. In case you didn't notice Mexico doesn't come first alphabetically yet she was ok with other presidents visiting it first. Her point is that Trump had no good reason to visit Saudi Arabia first. She then tried to wittily say that "Saudi Arabia isn't even alphabetical" not that "Saudi Arabia isn't alphabetical." The "even" word is important here because it is meant for suggesting that he didn't even meet a very low or flimsy standard, not the standard itself, which means she wasn't saying that presidents must visit countries alphabetically.

I don't find you any funnier than Nancy Pelosi to be honest, but maybe you are being serious, good lord. But she is funnier than Amy Schumer.

So even if we take an unrealistic reach and say dementia wasn't in play, and that in fact she was serious and was trying to make an intellectual point, you should be really concerned about her answer.

It was obvious why Saudi Arabia was visited first -- Trump was setting the tone that Islamic terrorist has to be stomped out, and it was number one on his agenda. If Pelosi was lucid and couldn't comprehend this simple point, then that's more dangerous than mental degradation.

Look, I applaud you for at least stepping up and trying to make an excuse for this sorry glue factory candidate, but it doesn't work. There are too many other examples of inexcusable lapses to consider the possibility of clear thought.

Good grief, I was just correcting the OP when he really though she said countries should be visited alphabetically, when it was plainly obvious she was not. I wasn't actually defending her attack.

So why is she attacking Trump on this? Is it dementia? No, its called partisanship. Whenever one party is in power the other party will attack the president for absolutely anything even if he blinks wrong. The president's party will defend him on absolutely anything even if he takes a sh** on his desk in the oval office. This happened during Obama where Republicans attacked Obama for everything and democrats defending everything he did, and now it it happening with Trump. The only difference is that Trump is a far worse president than Obama so democrats have a lot more legitimate reasons to attack him.

A sterling defence, for sure. Perhaps, president Trump should hire you to defend him against baseless accusations. :roflol:

Wrong again. I don't actually agree with Pelosi's attack and think its pure partisanship on her part. However your misrepresentation of her joke is obvious partisanship on your part and your willingness to attack her on absolutely anything just because she is a democrat.

Spin it any way you want, my friend. She said what she said and **** like this is actually is expected from her:

It was unusual for the President of the United States to go to Saudi Arabia first. Saudi Arabia? It wasn’t even alphabetical,” Pelosi said.

Was "we have to pass it for you to find out what's in it" also a joke?

LOL! You have no concept of the point she was making. This probably explains much of your confusion. You don't understand the most basic points.

It has nothing to do with the alphabet. Too damn funny!!!

It was about insulting our allies.

She only mentioned the alphabet because at least going in alphabetical order might not be taken as an insult.

I think we all understand the concept of partisanship. But Nancy crossed that bridge long ago and became a citizen of the enchanted world of loony land well before her latest snafu. A sample watch of Pelosi, and her dumb-and-dumber partner in politics Maxine Waters, should clarify things for you:

Look at the expression on Maxine's face as Pelosi speaks -- it's priceless!! If that one doesn't suffice, a simple Internet search should provide all the entertainment you can handle.

I see... Trump has insulted our allies by not visiting them first. And Saudis are not American ally ?

I'm not sure what's worse - not going in alphabetical order, or our allies cry for not being visited first.

    Well done :applause:

I have to admit, you're taking defending Nancy to epic levels. Mexico doesn't come first alphabetically before Saudi Arabia - wow, dude. That's like, even bigger than Brown vs. Board of Education. You, my friend, have just reinvented Alphabetical Order. Up until now, millions of kids have recited part of it as "...L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T ... " but now we know, thanks to you, that we had it all wrong! Hey - you don't mind if I invite you to my school district to tell us, do you? I really want to be there as you get up before the Board and spread the news.

If it means anything, I definitely find you funnier than Pelosi. Now what should our new alphabet be? "A, B, S, M, 5, *, =, Æ, ¾, squid, kneecap ..."

    Remember this?

Pelosi didn't handle losing her speaker position very well six years ago, and she's gotten progressively crazier since then. Pun intended.

The ignorance in your post is astounding and it is obvious you neither watched the video or followed the conversation. You are mixing up Trump's and Bush's visits. She was saying that past presidents at least had a justification for the first country they visited. Bush visited Mexico first and at least it was a geographical neighbor. She couldn't believe countries are visited alphabetically because Bush visited countries that came before Mexico alphabetically after visited Mexico and he was fine with him visiting Mexico first.

I would love to visit the elementary school that you attend.

Partisanship isn't just a problem for democrats you know. Remember when the right attacked Obama for saluting troops while holding a coffee cup? You guys probably forgot about that one already. Or when the right attacked Obama for ordering a hamburger with dijon mustard? Or when he was attacked for checking out a woman at a G8 summit?
