This is a compilation thread. There are too many cases to post individually. Recently, Washington Post editor Ruth Marcus unabashedly declared her desire for Cold War with nuclear armed Russia:

    Rachel Maddow as well:

Like all corporations, the Media Companies "Are Trapped By An Institutional Logic That Is Deeply Pathological And That Must Be Cured And Quickly If We Are Not To Put An End To The Human Race":
In 1988, ABC chief White House correspondent Sam Donaldson admitted in his book that:
The current media narrative on Russia is essentially a CIA-directed mind **** operation. "Whenever it comes to national security issues you see this incredibly close relationship between the media and the intelligence agencies," Glenn Greenwald observes. "When [the media] serve their agenda, they get scoops, they get secret documents, they get access."

This relationship led to a merger of sorts. Just about every news corporation has had journalists serving as CIA agents, which apparently continues to this day.

One infamous Times reporter did CIA-type dirty work in Honduras in the 1980s. In a letter to the Times, Ines Murillo, a Honduran victim of torture, responds to James LeMoyne's reporting of the interview with her, noting a series of distortions and falsehoods, which "have caused great damage to me and my family" and "could be used to justify the kidnapping, disappearance and assassination of hundreds of people." LeMoyne's response doesn't challenge any of her specific points.

In the 1990s, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the LA Times all helped destroy the career of journalist Gary Webb on the CIA's behalf. It was in retaliation for his reporting on the Contra-cocaine smuggling operation in the 1980s. A declassified CIA report, entitled, "Managing a Nightmare", shows the agency used "a ground base of already productive relations with journalists" to counter what it called "a genuine public relations crisis."

Many examples of fake news on Russia in one article:

The owner of the Washington Post, Jeff Bezos, is a CIA contractor. A CIA operative told former Washington Post owner Philip Graham in an conversation about how easy it was to get journalists to report CIA propaganda:

That little Maddow guy is unhinged to say the least. Does anyone take him serious?

Does anyone really believe this Russia stuff anymore? Do the principals involved in promoting it really think anyone believes it? Do the subjects of the accusations think anyone believes it?

It seems more a reality show than not. Since media personalities and politicians are mostly frustrated acters, it's likely just an elaborate improvisation. One where each party attempts to trick the others, but only succeeds in fooling themselves.

Sure, plenty of people believe the Russia story. The American people are very well indoctrinated, very easily led, and have been so for decades. Many still believe the official story on 911, on Abbottabad, San Bernardino and so many other things also contrived by CIA and the deep state.

They have been conditioned to forget other events such as the recent anniversary of the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty 50 years ago. The public's perceptions are highly manipulated, including all the silliness about the Russians.

It's because most people are working a lot of hours and simply don't have the time to do the research or if they do they don't know where to look or what sources to trust. That requires fact checking like reviewing footnotes which takes even more time to do. It's a lot of work. And most people aren't going to read a lot of scholarly literature or internal documents either.
