This is why you cannot believe Trump about the "fake news media" and "leakers"

To believe Donald Trump, you must believe two largely contradictory things.

You must believe that there are a slew of leakers in the executive branch who are providing damning details to the press illegally, and who must be rooted out and punished.

You must also believe that the press makes up imaginary leakers simply to slowly and incrementally report false stories that are tangentially embarrassing to the president. The most recent examples of Trump making that case came on Sunday (“Whenever you see the words ‘sources say’ in the fake news media, and they don’t mention names,” he said on Twitter, “it is very possible that those sources don’t exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!”), but he’s been railing against this idea that some media sources are not real since the campaign. (See tweets here and here.)

The result is that we end up with a president who at 8:33 a.m. says that it’s his opinion “that many of the leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media,” and then at 10:43 a.m. says that the prime minister of the United Kingdom was mad about information that was leaked.

Did you get that folks? Lol! He's calling the leaks coming out of the WH "fabricated lies made up by the fake news media", when he also said that the leaks are also coming from the WH itself "providing damning details to the press". WT? Then the WH reports that fake news as fact, by reporting that "the prime minister of the United Kingdom was mad about information that was leaked". In other words, the WH used their own leaked lie as they call it a lie, to relay that lie as true to the U.K. Two contradictions right there.

So, the next time you hear Trump talk about it was the "fake news media" or "leakers", we know now not to believe a word he says about that.

He's right on both accounts. Why not? Leaks are coming from Obama planted moles in the white house and our intelligence sources.

Well, when you start a thread with "To believe Donald Trump"
it immediately makes rational people recoil with "Why would you?"
There are so many examples of lies, that the default is to assume Trump is telling a lie until there is information to the contrary.
His entire campaign is based on lies, he has surrounded himself with those who will support and continue his lies, and the whole world sees it.
    Sad day for America.

Incorrect. In order to understand what's going on, you need to recognize the following facts.
    1. The mainstream media believes it their job to constantly paint President Trump in the most unflattering ways possible.
    2. Establishment henchmen unsupportive of President Trump occupy a good many positions within the government bureaucracy.
With this in mind, it is not hard to see what President Trump is talking about.

    Exactly right.

Here is your fundamental error: you have applied Prog psychology to conservatives. Conservatives do not believe what they believe because Trump told them to. That's how Progs think - in a group mindlessly following the leader. But conservatives are independent thinkers. They believe their eyes and ears. They trust Trump because they recognize a fellow who can also see what's going on, and calls it like he sees it.

Clearly there are leaks - but don't believe your buckin ears. Clearly the Russophobic media has yet to name a single source. Think on that. Not one named source.

They have so far. That's one reason for him being elected. A bunch of willful idiots. Besides, I see no one knocking on my door trying to tell me any different?
Lol! Yea right! Trump sees one lie he made up, then decided to put a cherry on top of that lie, with another lie. Which is really what this thread is about. That was so accurately pointed out to you.

It's dumb how people still believe these leaks without seeing any evidence. They got fooled into going to an illegal war with Iraq and they learned nothing from it.

You have to pay close attention, but the "leaks" are not really the focus of the thread.

It's how Trump uses these phrases and words like "fake news" and "leaks" to manufacture "lies" to cover his own tracks, but in the process stumbles over those "lies" that end up contradicting one another, when he finds himself having to make up another lie for the previous lie he just told. Get it?

That's nothing new tho. Trump has been on every side of every issue. He is a walking contradiction.

Agreed! But there's a whole batch of them out there who still do not see what you and I see. Hence, that is the reason for the thread. To get folks to think about what this guy is all about. Unfortunately for me, the effort I'm sure is in vain. Look how little participation I've gotten. I have one who is in denial of the argument, another who came here to say nothing, another one who doesn't yet know what the argument is yet, and you, who I believe actually "gets it".

O idk why you are even trying. When they guy first got elected I tried to give him a chance to see which way he would go and so far he has been a complete disaster. He has turned off a lot of his supporters especially after he bombed Syria but the ones who are still strong supporters of him suffer from a certain level of cognitive dissonance. I put them in the same category as people who still think Obama was a great president.

Never believe a report based on an anonymous source.

If you can't put name and face to the source then it never happened as far as I'm concerned.
