I find all this talk about the media to be extremely short on examples and very long on vague assertions.

Dead people voting has always been part of the Democratic Party. Jack Kennedy's maternal grandfather was known for it when he was mayor of Boston. Not to sound prejudicial, because it's not meant to be, but I think it came in with the Catholic Irish who leaned towards the worker's party, and didn't have the same standards as the Puritanical Wasps who were always Republicans.

There are though problems with the migrants. One of them is that they're thrown in jail over minor offenses such as smoking marijuana, and then they come out as hardened criminals. Most though are contributing to this country ...and to be honest we couldn't do without them. As the well known Father Groechel said many, many years ago, they are our waiters, our gardeners, our cleaning women, etc.

Maybe the best thing would be to allow them to come in as temporary workers, since the money they make can go much further in their own country. I think that's what Russia does.

I stopped reading the MSM when the lies about Syria made me sick to my stomach. I knew that Assad's tolerance was a rarity in the Middle East, and I knew Syrians who were praising him and had even moved back.

The lies then continued with Ukraine when the TV tried to present the coup which represented the Russophobic minority of Galatia as being all of Ukraine. The best though was when Yatsenuk said on an Evangelical program that the coup was a miracle since there was no violence. Yet I had seen videos of police being beaten and set on fire because Yanukovich wouldn't give them the order to fight back.

    So much for that.

Post reported for insulting language and flamebaiting.
London is a great city. I bet you have never even been there. In fact I bet you have never even set foot outside your own country.

I agree that London is a great city.

But I think it's a mistake to run to the Mods every time one disagrees with another member's message or choice of words.

There are already too many members who run to the Mods about jokes they don't understand, images they don't like, words they are unfamiliar with, thoughts they don't like, you name it.

If it gets much worse, people will be afraid to post anything.

Rules can be helpful, but they can also be used to suppress the spirit of free expression that makes a forum vibrant, inviting, and interesting.

The breath of life can be squashed out of a forum if rules are applied in a heavy-handed way, and used to control every little bit of conversation that takes place. If members have to look over their shoulder, to see if a Mod is looking, before they post a message, how will that help the forum?

The internet isn't anonymous. It leaves a trail. To your computer.
Brits break the law. But most of us know the law and don't.

You'll often see people on British forums trying to troll each other into breaking the law so they can ban them or what have you.

Ironic that this pathetic little man as you call him would save more lives if allowed to use common sense than all of the people you must look up to, like this mayor of London.

I will say it once more. If there was an area of the world, where a virus was killing people, no cure, no treatment, certain death, any intelligent gov't would put a halt on anyone from that area traveling into America, or the UK for that matter. It would be common sense. But, when you have a culture/religion, that brings death with it, suddenly the intelligence and common sense is kicked to the curb, and you allow these people in, while knowing without a doubt, like the deadly virus, your own people will lose their lives. One job of any gov't is to protect its own citizens. And if the means of doing that cuts off muslims from coming in, by god you should do it, period, end of story.

The fact that Europe and the US is still allowing those bastards to come in is about as crazy as you can get. They refuse to protect their own citizens, because a group of elites want open borders to bottom out labor costs, for greater profits. The same evil elites who wage perpetual war for perpetual peace because there is big money in war....for themselves...as they use the poor for cannon fodder.

Trump is a voice of sanity in a world gone insane. He calls a spade a spade and the spades don't like it.

I agree but I'm currently bitter about having 2 of my posts censored recently, one for calling someone ignorant and another for calling the same person lazy because he refused to go back and read the relevant discussion in the thread we were in. I have come here from a completely unmoderated forum and can see the advantages of not degenerating into dumb insults and uneducated statements about things the poster has no idea about.
I take your point though and will try to be more accepting of other peoples ignorance in future.

Yeah, I'm a bit bitter myself.

I recently had a Mod come down on me for calling a smart-mouthed poster "dense."

Then I had a guy get pissed about a joke I made about his hero. So, he ran around asking other people if he should report me. I mean, what a wienie. All of that over a freaking joke!

There are times a Mod is needed. But a little moderation goes a long way, imo.

Apologies to the OP for taking the thread off track for a moment.

That's just lefty propaganda, so don't swallow it..:)
In war you bomb the enemy's munition plants, tank factories, dockyards etc to cripple his capacity to make war, and bring the war to a swift end.
In WW2 bombers weren't accurate enough to hit individual targets like that, so they had to do "carpet-bombing" and plaster whole cities in the hope that some of the bombs would hit the vital targets, and naturally civilians got killed as collateral damage.
For example when the Luftwaffe bombed Leicester (England) in 1940 they were after the factories in Evington Valley Road, but many bombs missed and killed civilians in housing areas. My 18-year-old mother was under it, but she and her family saw the preliminary target marker flares coming down in the night sky ("they looked pretty" my mum told me) and hurried down to the shelter and survived, but others didn't.

Me too, a couple of my posts here were deleted and I got an infraction and a warning as if I was a little kid (I'm in my 60's)..:)
My favourite forum is the Liveleak video forum which is almost completely unmoderated, and we can leave short sharp totally outrageous comments under each vid.
For example a factory worker was caught in revolving machinery and was whirled around like a rag doll. One poster commented- "He went for a spin"..:)
The best forums like that one believe in free speech, YAY..:)

I live in Britain where hardly anybody has got a gun, heck even most policemen don't have a gun (you couldn't make it up!)

Yes, I'm English and for many years the majority of the stupid English have been voting for the Conservative and Labour parties which have been allowing mass immigration.
I've never voted for them, I only vote for the great UKIP party which is pledged to stop mass immigration..:)

I read Churchill's biography many decades ago, and I think that's where I read that he decided the only way to stop the Germans from bombing the factories, was to bomb civilians areas in Germany with the hope that they would do the same. This is why London was being bombed so heavily.

Churchill was certainly for flattening German cities, mainly to wipe out the factories in them, and if civilians got flattened too I don't think he cared much, and neither did the Brit people..:)
Same when Truman flattened Hiroshima and Nagasaki, civilians got hurt too, but hey, that's war..

"It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it"- Gen.Douglas MacArthur
"When I look round to see how we can win the war I see that there is only one sure path...and that is absolutely devastating, exterminating attack by very heavy bombers from this country upon the Nazi homeland" -Winston Churchill July 1940

Hillary is disgusting, too. But at least she has one foot in reality.

The Orange AH is all but brainless. He's lied so often, about so many things, that his entire world revolves around lies.

Right. And if they don't, Trump will send troops into Mexico.

So, it sounds like you were on board with the radical Dick Cheney/Donald Rumsfeld/Wolfowicz Project for a New American Century (PNAC).

    http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Project_for_the_New_American_Century

The Project for the New American Century seeks to establish what they call 'Pax Americana' across the globe. Essentially, their goal is to transform America, the sole remaining superpower, into a planetary empire by force of arms. A report released by PNAC in September of 2000 entitled 'Rebuilding America's Defenses' codifies this plan, which requires a massive increase in defense spending and the fighting of several major theater wars in order to establish American dominance. The first has been achieved in Bush's new budget plan, which calls for the exact dollar amount to be spent on defense that was requested by PNAC in 2000. Arrangements are underway for the fighting of the wars.[4]
