I won't hold your major against you.
My ex SIL was an English major. She was also a cheatin' ho. God bless her real good. She needs it after all of the damage she did to my brother and his family.

You are extremely correct.Mick Jagger,in fact set the tone.
One could argue the Beatles did as well. With their long hair,on their
first American Tour,it raised a lot of eyebrows in the normally staid
conservative 60's. The Beatles were seen as the bane of normalcy
    and being collegiate.

Well for myself I never got off into how he looked. Never went to any of concerts or playing in a bar either. But that being said. After having a few hits. Its not like he wasn't heard on the radio. As he got older I guess he tried to not look so feminine.

I'm not SO sure about that.Rush Limbaugh has bragged numerous
times about how school, literally bored him silly. In fact he dropped out of
College w/o even completing his Freshman year.He stated he knew all
along what he wanted to be.No need for silly homework or dopey courses.
He's worth around half a billion dollars { net worth } or More.
I,Too,was very bored in school { mostly grade school }.
I went to a co-ed parochial school where the girls were very pretty
especially in their uniforms.I went to a Prep school for high school.ALL Boys.

Sorry to hear about your family having to go through such a horrendous situation.

No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes but I am void of respect for anyone who crosses that line. Especially if they are with a trustworthy partner. That line is a line of trust. You cross that, you are on one knee repairing broken trust to a person who was trustworthy. Not a good place to purposely be. At that point you can only hope that person sees more in you than you saw in yourself and they can rise above it to be forgiving enough for you to repair the damage and regain your self respect and their respect for you and their trust in you.
On the other side, you cross a line and don't have it in you to be on one knee, you exposed yourself as a person who would gladly sacrifice self respect and trust for self gratification.
Ive always believed if you are that unhappy get out. Be mature and sit down at the table and end it proper. Never compromise yourself because you cant follow through to end it proper, for any reason. You lose the trust and respect of people around you that love you, you got nothing.
Course Im odd in many ways. Im a self admitted old school relic. lol

Autodidacts like Limbaugh can do very well without formal education, but if you drop out and stop studying/learning you will be stuck. Of course, everyone, including those with formal educations, should never stop pursuing knowledge.

He has become a pretty good jazz singer. And as I recall he has a busload of children - so the chick look must have worked well for him - across the board.

Abe Lincoln was self-taught.Scholars like David Horowitz and
Dennis Prager insist that many colleges run by Liberal Professors
and administrators are near worthless.Columbia U. being among the
most profound. Our Public Education system is very flawed. They stop
teaching Civics and moved on to ridiculous Political crap like
    - An Inconvenient Truth -.

I bought about 6 months ago a Jeff Beck Double *album.
He's no singer, never has been.Eric Clapton is a far better singer and
he's also No singer. For that matter the Allman Bros. Band really had no
singers.Ozzie Osbourne was also a pathetic singer.
Gracie Slick could sing.Janis Joplin could really belt out a song.
Ringo Starr was a better singer than Ozzie Osbourne.
Chris Isak is a singer.Osbourne was just a overly loud A-wipe
who used reverberation and high decibel levels.Like
    - Deep Purple - and - Humble Pie - { who I liked }
Alice Cooper could sing. Most Rock Bands relied on loud music
    or a spacey sound like - King Crimson - Emerson,Lake & Palmer -
    - Yes - and - Uriah Heep -. - Pink Floyd - being the bellwether.

    * Jeff Beck LIVE +

Girly man drinks.Like what I would expect a Richard Simmons to
sip on in order to plead he's a heavy drinker.

The cost of education should be very low in the age of the internet with its massive database of accumulated knowledge.

This is a good start: https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2016/09/20/mooc-based-masters-degree-initiative-expands-globally

I am mostly picking lint from my belly button realizing that I am probably in the last generation of humans who will have ever seen televisions with vertical and horizontal control knobs or know the magic of a good whack on the side of the TV to get those across the goal line.
