there is a video with audio and he is in the passenger seat. the video starts recording after he was shot. some of the things the girlfriend said to the the cop seemed unnecessary like she was only saying it for the camera.

So the theory is that the girlfriend was the one who shot the guy?

    Minnesota's manslaughter law is weird:

None of the 5 really applies to the cop, which is why he was acquitted. If the cop did this in just about any other state he would have been found guilty. For example, Colorado's manslaughter law is simply:

The police confirmed that he had a permit that was issued in another county. This was discussed at the time of the event in this forum

Where is the proof that he was reaching for it? If Castile wanted to shoot the officer he would not have warned him beforehand.

The officer panicked - training needs to be reviewed

Wasn't he reaching into his pocket where the gun was? Did he have a license to carry a concealed weapon? Why did he have a gun
in his pocket? Isn't that an invitation to get shot?

Seriously, if he had a legal permit it was his lawful right to carry. He would've been searched, the officer would've seen the permit and he'd still be alive today. His ignorance, plus the officer's fear led to his unfortunate demise. It should've been a manslaughter charge though.

I don't know about Minnesota, but here in Va. he did what was required (as far as he got). You are required to inform an officer that you are carrying. Apparently he never got the weapon out (or had it in his lap) as it was reported by witnesses that the firearm fell out of his pocket as he was being transported away, by emergency personnel.

The officer demanded to see his drivers license. You don't pop that stuff up from thin air. You have to reach for that. So he got shot for complying to the officers demands.
