Why wasn't this as much reported as when a cop shot a black cop?

Really, she is lucky here in California that she did not get arrested. This state despises guns. This state (meaning Democrats of course) will slap you in jail just over having a gun show up on your car seat. Even locked cars don't matter. Cops will wait for you to show up to get into your car then arrest you. Guns are a civil right and woman's rights as well.

 

The answer, of course, is that they don't care how many victims there are in home invasions, muggings or robberies.

They just care when someone is shot. They never talk about how to stop criminals, they only talk about how to take away guns.

This guy will go into their "gun violence" tally to use in their talking points.

 

Imagine had she had an assault weapon? That guy would go to hell all holy.

 

What's an "assault weapon"? I doubt many people have full auto weapons in their homes if you mean an assault rifle.

 

I have fired the "Grease gun." It shoots the commonplace .45 cal bullets used in the M1911 pistol.



My military training taught me an assault weapon is any weapon that is hand carried that can rapidly be used to wipe out the troops in a foxhole.

While I also fired the BAR, that weapon was designed for a soldier to shoot from the prone position and one can empty the entire magazine in short order. Bursts of 3 is recommended but up to 6 is just fine.

 

An assault rifle is capable of select fire, meaning full auto or burst fire, and it's not used to "wipe out" it's used to suppress return fire so that you can advance on a position.

An AR-15 is functionally no different than any other semi-automatic rifle.

 

WTF does it have to do with women's rights?

She hit him once in the chest. Doctors saved him. I plan to try to find out what gun she used.

I looked at 3 news reports yet none mentioned the gun she used. A report stated the Sheriff's office solicited comments from outsiders. Wonder if this means she gets charged? This is California we are discussing.

 

I suppose so. I rarely had occasion to use 3 round burst, and that was typically to stop a vehicle coming at us.

I'll take a single shot rifle over a full auto weapon any day.

 

My experience with full auto weapons is limited to the .30 cal machine gun, the .50 cal machine gun, the BAR, the M-60 machine gun, the M-3 spoken of above, the M-14 and the AR-15. They all varied a lot so won't make a blanket statement.

I never fired at any enemy. For that, I am so thankful.

 

The amount of ammo you burn through that way only makes it useful when you're entrenched or storming a beach and have to put a lot of rounds downrange.

That's the only time you'd switch to burst with an M16 (and why it's no longer full auto): when you're about to get overran, or when you are caught between the water and a hard place.

Other that that, full auto/burst is largely useless. That's what M60/SAW is for anyway.

They do the same thing with magazines too, calling them "high capacity". It's a way to start normalizing things the way they want you to see them.

It's a form of brain-washing, I just call attention to it when I see it.
