These two preachers, whose videos I've included in this thread, were two of the biggest supporters of the Iraq war. Why didn't God inform Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Stanley that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq??? Why didn't God inform Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Stanley that the war would turn out badly?? Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Stanley saw nothing wrong with the American economy up until 2008-2009. Now Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Stanley are going to tell us what is going to happen next --- that socialism is going to harm America. I am an atheist and I opposed the war. I knew the war was going to be a colossal disaster. Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Stanley are about as wise as boiled eggs.
Religion or lack of religion has nothing to do with the ability to make intelligent projections of the future.
I am very conservative, but also very opposed to foreign adventure wars, 1000s of bases, encroachment on Russia with NATO/EU, and the Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemeni, and Libyan wars. Go figure. Stereotypes don't always fit.
So if religion does not give you an edge in regards to wisdom then what is the point of subscribing to religious belief???

The religious people I know get great comfort from believing in a power that guides our lives, watches over us and will give us a life after death
