ASLEF have told their members who drive for Southern not to work overtime.
Now we have cancellations, long waiting times, delays, over crowding and a union telling a private company how to hire, and telling its staff what to do and not receive overtime.
This is a huge slap in the face to commuters especially as well as Southern Railway shareholders and the driver's too who should, if they want, be earning their overtime, not forced to or not to.

Post-truth comes to Britain! Its a shame that privatisation has ensured profiteering at the expense of the passenger. That will be put right when Jez gets in power.

Except Jeremy Corbyn's plans to nationalise rail and mail will see all of Britain's rails pants like Southern Rail (Southern Fail)...

If Jeremy Corbyn weasels his communist way in, I'd no longer be able to change to a better service at Clapham Junction for Waterloo on a South Western service...

It'll all be British Rail, cheap, rickety cost cutting and people going on strike nationwide fighting for B/S claims like softer cushions for drivers, drivers and ticket guards etc etc. and WORST! - The Tax Payer will have to pay and Britain will be a command economy with increased interference from Westminster.

Jeremy Corbyn's problem is wishing to solve everything with government.
He wants more government, not less.
    More Red Tape, not less.

We've generated a lot of inefficiency through privatisation. Bowman (2015) sums it up: "...an aggressive outsourcing strategy which raised the real-terms costs of new investment projects to 2–3 times the levels paid by British Rail"

Paid for by the customer as part of operating costs in a free trade economy instead of paid for by taxation like a command economy.

Do you understand what a command economy is?

Do you like red tape and hate flexibility of 0% contracts and umbrella pay roll companies?
Do you want to tell someone who's disabled they're not fit for work?

A 'free trade economy' is not capitalist specific. See, for example, the market socialists who use international trade as the means to avoid the problems associated with economic planning.

Yep. If you think nationalisation of key services means 'command economy', then there aren't many capitalist economies in the world!

Do you like influence costs and profit going to overseas public enterprise?

You've gone random now! But isn't that a crucial part of your argument?

You want Westminster/us tax payers to control the trains.
You care about profits going overseas, so want to make the state own it and people pay for it and it's going to have no competition.
    That's what Corbyn wants @Reiver

I'm not a liberal. Why are you using American effort at putdown? Can't you think of your own? Show some imagination.

You have to ask about the naivety of economic rent going to overseas public sector rather than the domestic one? Golly!

There's no reduced red tape from privatisation. If there was, expect train derails left right and centre. There is, however, increased price and ironically subsidisation of overseas rail system

That you don't care that a key service is overpriced, funding overseas product, does show your charitable nature. I trust Brexit won't interfere with your insistence on giving your money to the continent. God bless!

You seem to not care about the people owning the railways.
You seem to want government doing it.
    And why?
So a bunch of overseas projects don't get funded?
You want a government owned monopoly on ticket prices and service.

    @Reiver
Since you want Corybyn, you want an end to freedoms of 0 hour contracts and the payroll industry.
You want different kinds of benefits and people who are disabled to claim disability rather than work.
I bet you want free school meals for every school child too instead of the just poor children.
You make me sick, Corybyn lover.

Don't you like seeing people with special needs in the work place, or do you want yet more benefits?
Tell me, where's your MAGIC MONEY TREE to pay for all of this?
What, can't the DUP get funding?
    @Reiver
Can't pay for Nortnern Ireland Loyalist parties but can pay for national rail? pah!

Corbyn is a criminal, end of.
He hates free trade, capitalism, and wants to review PFIs on the NHS not banish PFIs on the NHS.
He wants to nationalise mail and rail too.
    The Socialist bastard.

Trying to tell me what's random in my own thread, now answer why you want Corbyn to destroy the UK or find someone else to talk to.

Honestly, I feel it, if Corbyn ever comes to power, and imposes any changes I don't like, I will resist them, all of them.
I'd be out of a job, I'd be subject to be self employed, and we'd lose free trade on our trains.
It can't be fair to take it if he ever slithers into power.

My ****ing MP, one Labour MP Steve Reed blamed the Transport Sectery for ASLEF and Southern Rail and that chaos we had to endure.
The Transport Sectrary blames Labour sulking and causing chaos to distrupt things just to make it hard on the government...
WHAT A BUNCH OF SORE ****ING TRAITORS AGAINST THE PEOPLE USING US BECAUSE THEY LOST THE ELECTION.
    http://www.cityam.com/267856/southern-rail-transport-secretary-accuses-labour-stoking-up
This all happened last summer, and isn't why I hate Corbyn, IT'S ANOTHER REASON why I hate Corbyn.

Sulking so he causes a union strike to hold up the captial, for shame, tell this Pinko to **** off to Cuba.

I should know my MP blames them because I contacted them to get them to talk to ASLEF for forcing the one company to take me to work, and instead, my MP sent me a letter blaming the government/transport secretary!
    **** my MP.
Useless tosser has me wanting to contact the transport secretary to help me since my own Labour MP is Labour and so pitted against getting things done and is all for playing a blame game.
Labour are influecing RMT and ASLEF because must hate us and care about power over what we want in the capital.

LIKE WHEN LONDON VOTED REMAIN during BREXIT, and Jeremy Hitler Corbyn took over our parliament square all week for a Labour coup, nothing to do with Londoners needing to voice the remain side, he moved in, like it matters to anyone who runs Labour)?!. **** LABOUR, **** JEREMY CORBYN. Remainers needed Parliament Square, but he proved then he cared about him and his party first, and now last summer with the unions, SULKING, he's doing the same with these unions wanting the tax payer to now pay for rails.

I cannot say **** off enough, to be quite honest, that man is a Attlee credit stealing Marxist.
He takes credit for the NHS by proxy of Labour, **** Corbyn.

If only mature student numbers weren't on the slide!

Wonder if eating habits in the UK are much different to student savings nowadays? I lived on tuna melt in my old days. There has to be cheaper today.
