    Although liberals appear willing to sacrifice western notions about the need for consent in marital arrangements, they will not require this from non-western cultures that accept child brides. This is a consequence of "cultural relativism".

    With companion animal laws on the books, and health insurance for them, I'm surprised that laws have not been made to allow for the protection of the animals after the death of the caregiver(human), with their estate. I find it nearly unbelievable because many marriages do not rely on sexual relations to stay together. Folks changing gender seems common and laws have changed to reflect those changes in morals, ethics or whatever. So, why are animals, particularly companion animals not yet allowed to marry?
