It is, yes. But it has spiritual significance beyond simply it's mathematical significance. That's why it's there.
Some people just get whatever tattooed on them. I'm sure a lot of people's tattoos don't really have any sentimental value.
So...the tattoo my wife spent 6 months designing is "impulsive"? The one her best friend spent a year on was "impulsive"? Pathetic.
The smartest person I know (if anything, "smart" is selling her short) is covered in tattoos from neck to ankles. (She's an ER nurse.) - - - Updated - - - Stupid statement.
That last paragraph is not only dead wrong but indicative of a very shallow mind. Many, many tattooed people have very high IQs and id be willing to bet are alot less judgemental of arrogant, judgemental people who incorrectly ASSUME that they are unintelligent. In fact, I will go a step further and say that tattooed people are far smarter than folks who make broad, sweeping statements on a public forum where they can be castigated and proven WRONG. Was I clear enough in my assessment of the stupidity in your assinine claim? - - - Updated - - - What an idiotic claim.
I think Tattoos on other people are great. Tattoos are not good for Me...... Too many dermatological issues, Art, varies greatly, so do Tattoos, the illustrated man is my favorite Tattoo story. Tee Hee, Tramp stamp, giggle......
I don't mind them on men, as long as it isn't covering every inch of his body. I don't care for them on women, although I've seen some that were done tastefully. I personally would never get a tattoo. I've seen some funny pictures online of tattoos on old people that they got when they were young and they are all distorted now. Lol. That's something to think about before you go getting a tattoo, I would advise.
Another reason I would not get a Tattoo, but that is just for me, if anyone wants to get many Tattoos, multiple Herve Villechaize, I say, go for it ! The only potential problem I foresee, is the caterwauling all those Tattoos make, every time a plane passes overhead ! Boss, Boss, the Plane !
I thought about getting one before on my lower tummy, just a small one, my son's initials, but I decided against it.
I actually find tattoos unattractive. Such a shame so many beautiful women are disgracing their bodies with it.
The tattoo craze really is a little out of control. Ive noticed it more with the summer weather. If you can wait till your middle aged and 40ish...most people are more conservative at that point and opt out of any youthful ideas. Ive seen them look good and bad on every type person. To each their own... as I always say.
Originally tattoos were associated with mostly gangs. When they became more popular I saw them as statements of self-loathing to the point of wanting to "deface" one's own body. But more recently I find I am becoming more accepting of the practice simply due to exposure I guess. But I still can't get past the metal in the face or men with holes stretched in their ear lobes.
I think they still are done as statements of self loathing...when taken to the extreme (same with outrageous piercings)
In a place where almost anything and everything is permissible, what other forms of self expression might a person do?
