Sorry but I'm just going to go ahead and trash this guy, I don't give a rat's ass about his health problems any more. I never liked him before he was diagnosed so it would be hypocritical to claim otherwise now. Some people are backing down for fear of being ostracized as being heartless but heartless to me is McCain who was actually a liberal who ran on the Republican ticket just to get extra votes for his party which is the Democrats. Every issue the GOP has brought up, McCain has voted against. He's a Marxist socialist azzhole that's working to ruin America and I for one can't wait to see him go.

Oh wierd, another person saying "This guy doesn't agree with me so he is evil!!!"

It is not "news" to come here and talk about how you hate someone, move this to the Opinion section unless you have an actual article for us to read.

McCain is a Reagan Republican. Funny how that is now considered a liberal Democrat in post-freaky Donald America. Oh well.
    Things change.

No, I personally think he is far more "spendy" and authoritarian now than what the Regan Republicans were.

Either way, this is a stupid thread created and pushed by people who simply do not like him. But as a Libertarian and Small Government person, I will agree he is pretty far too the opposite side of me on the issues

Republicans should have added a provision that provided for $10 billion in funds for bombing Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and a couple other countries with a fill-in-the-blank line for McCain to fill in himself. That would have been awfully tempting to him. He should just be called Senator Death.

You bring up an interesting point that most people do not fully understand in politics today.

Wanting war IE: being a war hawk, is not a Rep or Demo thing. There are specific groups in each party that lead the charge and yes, McCain was the leader of the Republican war hawks for sure. IMO with Hillary Clinton being the leader of the Democratic war hawks

You have absolutely no ****ing clue what you are talking about. McCain is to the left of Reagan on EVERY issue, except one. (McCain supports bombing anyone and everyone at any time, including the moon, and possibly Mars if they make a missile that can go that far.)

McCain is just trying to save his soul before death....but the Devil is NOT going to give it back after YEARS of toadying to the reaganomic doctrine. Nice try though, John.

You shouldn't be trashing him; rather the people of Arizona who voted him into office, after all if they didn't vote for him initially we might not be having this conversation.

I'm going to disagree. I want to see Obamacare repealed, but this POS legislation that they were trying to ram through was completely bogus. The people who are acting on behalf of Americans everywhere turns out to be John McCain, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul. An anorexic repeal is not what people were promised. We know what a repeal looks like. Heck, it was sent to President Obama:

    HR 3762 - ACA repeal
On January 8, 2016, Obama vetoed HR 3762. In a statement, he outlined the "significant progress we have made in improving health care in America" since the passage of his signature healthcare law in 2010 and said that HR 3762 would undo much of that progress. He said, "This legislation would cost millions of hard-working middle-class families the security of affordable health coverage they deserve. Reliable health care coverage would no longer be a right for everyone: it would return to being a privilege for a few." He also warned that the bill, which proposed defunding Planned Parenthood, "would limit access to health care for men, women, and families across the Nation, and would disproportionately impact low-income individuals" who use the reproductive healthcare organization's services.

Agreed. But in this vote, I believe McCain was correct: there was far too little serious consideration to this. If there needs to be a replace in order to gain support for a repeal, do that. I mean, lawmakers have had seven years to get this worked out. McCain basically called BS where a call of BS was needed.

Reportedly McCain was originally for it but when it all came down to him being the deciding factor, he flipped and voted nay. The guy is nothing but a democratic hack.

    WOW

Never has he been a Reagan anything. McCain alleges he wants the ACA repealed, that is until he gets the chance to repeal it, then he won't vote to repeal it.

When McCain trashed GW Bush in Bush first election, he lost my respect. And Graham is on the same boat as McCain.

I see Graham moving more and more into the Democrats camp. McCain is there already.

We can have a civil discussion over McCain.

john is well aware of what the Democrats are up to. And he knows how short handed we are in the Senate. For him to side with the Democrats on this might end all chances to repeal. The law helps very few. Harms the rest of Americans. ACA is a lousy law. Dodd Frank is as well. Democrats create lousy law. This is their credo.

McCain had a chance to gun down the Democrats and him and Murkowski and Collins had a chance and sided with democrats.

Democrats are gloating believing they won and we got done in by republicans.

McCain is a man of principle and won't vote for a bad bill that leaves 30 million more people uninsured.

the goal is to get more people insured, not less

and btw, McCain voted FOR the Repeal/Replace bill.
