Okay...I need you to relax and put on your imagination cap. Imagine a bubble with a speck of dust suspended in the exact center. Now imagine you are floating around in it somewhere. Anything you can see would be what is between you and the dust speck. Thus it is at best half of what is there. That dust speck is the big bang and we cannot even see that far, let alone what is on the other side of it. There is also all the stuff in the Bubble that is invisible to us but is actually there, which is probably 4 times more than we actually see. Do you feel tiny, I sure do. ............Discuss.............
Good thought experiment. Also we see starlight from stars that burnt out long ago so, what we see in the night sky may only exist as photons.

Imagine this: Intelligent life may be fairly common in the universe. If indeed there are 10,000 or more intelligent civilizations in our galaxy, as many indicators suggest, with 100 billion galaxies in the universe, there are trillions and trillions of intelligent species out there. Given the laws of large numbers, and given that trillions and trillions qualify as large numbers, when you look out at the night sky, the odds are that something in a galaxy far far away, is looking back. It has reasoned out that you are out there somewhere looking at him/her/it. So you should both wave.

Yep and when we look into the night sky, we are seeing light that could have come from long extinguished civilizations as well. I find that interesting. I think time travel is the only way maybe might be able to communicate with other life forms in the Universe.
It's funny; many people started to wonder if having no definitively positive result from SETI suggests that the galaxy is not full of intelligent life. But then someone realized that SETI was based on the fact that we could detect us. We can detect radio transmissions from worlds across the galaxy. However, due to LASER and microwave transmissions, we are going radio silent. And soon we could no longer detect us. The age of radio only lasted about 100 years.
It is also a good idea to consider that life "As We Know It" will NOT be what life is elsewhere. We are an obviously human centric animal and thus have a very limited concept of this universe. For all we know three are methane creatures swimming in the lakes of Titan and hydrogen balloon baladder blimpoids in Jupiter. The possibilities become limitless in a Quintillion star universe that may be one of many.
And...for all we know Aliens use advanced nanotechnology and there are several probes flying around your living room right now. I mean seriously, if you decided to travel to another planet to study the local wildlife....would you fly around at night with your lights on?

It is rather sad and unfortunate when individuals dismiss and degrade science and those people who explore it out of a profound and purposeful ignorance. It would be so much more pleasant for them to simply avoid entering into discussions they do nothing but spoil.

Currently, the largest and most powerful telescopes have managed to look far enough back in time to attempt seeing the big bang event and the first stars. At about 13.5 billion light years...everything becomes dark. Will the James Webb be able to see the other side?
If we all thought as you seem to and dismissed anything we did not understand or like...all science would be "Fake" and science itself would cease to function. Just because YOU disagree with something does not make it go away.
