    OP

I means the US is miffed 1) that they backed the wrong horse (so what's new! ) at the outset, and 2) That Russia takes all the kudos, and rightly so. A pathetic show of 'stampy-feet' mean-spiritedness in other words. **** Washington and **** everyone in the swamp.

Really? You think 5 million Syrians fled their country for no reason? This will happen again.

C'mon Margot, please. We have already established that you believe everything you read and hear promoted by the mainstream media, while I am exactly the opposite.

The western media is but the mouthpiece of the US and Israeli propaganda efforts. That is why I place no faith whatsoever in what they say.

Assad did not "barrel bomb" his own people. Our mercenaries did so, and the propaganda outlets blamed Assad, and you bought into it.

Its a shame you fear an honest discussion, most Americans here are searching for the "good guy" and they defend him no matter what, there are no good guys in the ME only intersts, grow up.

While Obama was drawing red lines in the sand, USAF aircraft were bombing the hell out of Syria. That is why so many refugees flooded Europe--we destroyed their homes and country.

Yes Assad did drop barrel bombs.. The "mercenaries" had no helicopters.

Syrians reported the barrel bombings and have posted pictures.

A barrel bomb is an improvised unguided bomb, sometimes described as a flying IED (improvised explosive device).

They are typically made from a large barrel-shaped metal container that has been filled with high explosives, possibly shrapnel, oil or chemicals as well, and then dropped from a helicopter or airplane.

True........ I don't know what these people are so keen to reinvent Gaddafi and Assad. Both were/are terrible... Nothing has changed in Syria. Assad had ample opportunity to carry out the reforms he'd promised for years before March 2011.

Do you expect me to believe that all US air operations are up front and public? Really? The most practiced liars in the world work in the US DoD.

Mattis has said the US will be in Syria for the long haul, invitation or not. We have like 19 bases there, and all that is in violation of international law.

The US don't need no stinkin' law, international or otherwise. The US is above the law.

Good grief.. You simply invent your own reality.

First Syrian refugees to Turkey are recorded in April 2011, allied air operation are recorded in 2014.

    Evidence for barrel bombs.

    We can only hope

The whole "The US is in the Middle East for oil!" thing is basically a saying of the past

With how close we are to energy independence people are no longer able to use that with much affect.

But yeah, other than Israel there is basically NOTHING that comes out of any ME country. Nothing really to use as a proxy that helps us.....

Finally we can let Russia and other countries waste money on the Iraq's of the world, concentrate our focus at home. We sure as hell need it.

But this thread is some pretty hillarious hypocrisy as of late.

    US Nation Building = Bad!
    Russia Nation Building = Good!

lol it couldn't be more obvious to see the hypocrisy if it were written down on paper! Oh wait, well, E-Paper counts too

Oil was never a factor in Syria.. They have very little and the quality is horrible.

Yup, that is the point I am trying to make.

Oil really isn't a factor for the US anywhere anymore. We are almost energy independent and the price of oil PPB shows it. Hopefully in the next 10 years we will be 100% independent and even OPEC won't be able to affect us.
