Have you seen what some of these pellet guns look like? You can easily mistake them for the real thing.

Yep, if the victim had been crawling down the hotel hallway with even a toy gun I would agree with you........but he was on his hands and knees begging for his life with five police officers pointing guns at him...... c'mon......could have been me or you.

You really need to watch the video. When he was shot he had his hand behind his back. He could have very easily been pulling a gun.

Ah, another Darwin Award Winner whose fate makes a lot of other morons insecure, and sniveling because a jury didn't lynch any police officers just for their amusement and prison rape fantasies.

Yawn. Hopefully the jury also awarded the police dept. compensation from the moron's estate to make up for what he cost the govt. and the officers with his idiotic behavior.

Not surprising that this happened in Mesa, Arizona, an incorporated city with in Maricopa County that has it's own police department.

These officers were not Maricopa County deputy sheriffs.

When a Mesa city police officer tells you to jump, you start jumping while yelling out "How high."[/QUOTE]

Liberals classify rifles by their cosmetic features.

In California liberals call this an assault rifle.

He was in the pest control business. He was on the road staying at this hotel while on pest control business. He had one pellet gun rifle in his hotel room which he was showing to two other guests in his 5th floor hotel room. Some other guests in the hotel hot tub below saw his silhouette in the window and notified the hotel. The hotel called the cops and a five man swat team showed up and got him to come into the hallway. He never presented or aimed anything at the cops. The cops never saw any weapon or toy gun or pellet gun. He was on his hands and knees pleading for his life and crying with five LEOs pointing weapons at him including at least one AR-15 (the weapon used to kill him). He reached backed to pull up his pants and was executed........no weapon, toy or pellet gun was found anywhere near him......those are the facts.

Calling me a moron will not change the facts of this case. I too believe you will live a longer life if you are respectful to LEOs and comply with their commands........unfortunately, that is exactly what this man was doing when he was murdered.....

No, he wasn't, and a jury said so, and the video shows they were right.

Dumb cops, always carry a drop weapon.

Dumb pest control guy, never reach for your waist band when cops are pointing guns at you.

What if these Mesa city cops were have been Metro cops in Las Vegas on Oct. 1st, 2017 ???

Would we be seeing a thread titled

Watched the video and the guy kept reaching back behind himself. I get using your hands to support yourself in front of you but there was literally no reason whatsoever to reach behind his back like he did at least twice if not three times. You have to assume he was armed since the call was specifically about someone being armed and pointing weapons. I would be surprised if the hotel didn't have a policy about having firearms or weapons that look like firearms inside the premise.

If you are in this situation then you lie flat on the ground with legs and arms outstretched and don't move a muscle. Even if the cop told me to cross my legs or whatever that **** was I am not moving a muscle at all. They can come over and step on my back and cuff me but I wouldn't risk misinterpreting and order.

You are not guaranteed the right to bear arms in an establishment that prohibits it. If you actually knew anything about the second ammendment and its SCOTUS rulings you would know that. Anyone person or business can disallow firearms on their premise. THAT IS THE ****ING LAW.

Was the rifle reported as a pellet gun.....NO IT WASN'T! The officers were under the assumption that there was someone with a real firearm. You don't just assume that "Well maybe it might be a toy or something" You treat that **** as real. Its the same reason I don't fault the 14 year old that was waving a toy gun in the park that got shot by the cop. The person at fault for that was the dispatcher that never passed on the info to the cop that it might be a toy gun.

The fact that that moron brought a gun of any kind to a hotel after the worst mass shooting that I can recall happened a month ago IN ANOTHER ****ING HOTEL tells me that that guy was a ****ing idiot.

I think the incident in question was before the Vegas thing, but yes, it's pure STUPID on this guy's part. Police officers should in no way lose careers or do time because of some idiot's lack of a brain.

Could you provide a link to La Quinta Inn's 'policy' regarding pellet guns in their rooms. Also, a link regarding the applicability of the 2nd Amendment to BB/Pellet guns. I know you snowflakes are afraid of anything that resembles a firearm......but this was an execution of a law abiding citizen by an insecure, poorly trained cop......

It's a very sad and unfortunate story, but in the end the officer was justified to shoot. Or at least there was enough justification to be found not guilty.

However, what goes on before the shooting doesn't seem excusable. The cop seemed like a jerk going excessive and beyond what he needed to, and probably escalated the situation.

Murder? Probably not. But he was being very demeaning to that man and scared him out of his pants, and that excessive panic is probably what led to the man not following orders and getting shot. It's an upsetting video, and those type of things can make one think they're in some kind of police state under martial law or something. Proves we're still in the Wild West, when a man can get killed for putting his hands in the wrong place even when he doesn't have a gun.

If there was a second officer available in the immediate vicinity, things might have been able to turn out differently.

Knowing the OP its clear his intent was to try and make some point that people that tend to defend police ONLY do it when the person shot is black. If he paid any attention to past attempts like then he would have know that it was going to backfire spectacularly. Unlike the OP who clearly is attempting to portray cop supporters as a bunch of racists. We don't care what color skin the person or the cop has only their actions. Its people like the OP and groups like BLM that will decide someones guilt or victimhood status SOLELY on their skin color, which is the very definition of racism.

Is a Pellet Gun a Deterrent?

Lethal - .177 caliber airgun hunting pellet
The LETHAL pellet can acquire up to 38% better grouping than a standard lead pellet*, thanks to the stable trajectory and its longer polymer skirt. The dome tip and the two body design enable this pellet to penetrate a metal plate up to 0.06 in (0.15 cm) thickness.
Copper retains 100% of its weight after expansion, retaining velocity/energy – creating less ballistic drag. The shape and long skirt create a flatter trajectory and tighter group patterns. Terminal impact for a clean, vital shot kill.

Once again was the call about someone waving around a pellet gun or just a gun. If the call was about someone running around with a super soaker the police would have laughed at the person who made the call. The call was about a firearm so the police HAVE to assume its real and that someone was waving a gun around. I don't know La quinta's policy but I am pretty sure you can't go around waving a gun anywhere even if you have a CC permit.

What kind of ****ing idiot brings a rifle of any kind into a hotel a month after a mass shooting from a hotel and thinks that is a good idea. If you bring your rifle or handgun then you make sure that **** is stashed and you don't go waving it around.

If it was before the Las Vegas shooting I stand corrected then. This is the first time I have heard of this incident.
