How does a Barfly have a good morning.?
With his behind firmly planted on his favorite bar stool at
    his favorite Tavern.
Charles Bukowski would tend to agree.
But one would be wise to keep their distance if
starting up a conversation with Bukowsi.
    On the neighboring bar stool.
    Say's I ~!

What about adult diapers. My old man died wearing an adult diaper
    in his hospital bed.
Your theory { not a theorem } is flawed.
I doubt Julius Caesar wore a diaper .... EVER.
But he did cotton traipsing around in the dress of his day.
Kinda like Liz Taylor and her flowing designer smocks.Which hide a
    lot of tubbiness.

I don't know what the latest CW is about coffee.First it was
openly agreed upon as a must in the morning.Especiially
    in Military quarters and at the office.I had a desk job { front office }
as a Rate Analyst and we had an office Coffee pool.
We also had a pool for our bi-monthly checks. It was a buck.
Whoever had the highest poker hand on the check # won.
Each person in the office had to fork over a dollar to that winner.
Then Coffee took a turn about 2 decades ago.It was considered
bad.Caffeine was a No No and coffee could easily be abused { more than
one cup }. Then it was good again. There were benefits of coffee consumption.

As a Film buff and also TV cultural warrior I saw and lived thru
    trends like other mortals.
The 60's saw The biggest change in fashion in my Lifetime.
Starting with the Invasion of The Beatles. And their long mop hairdos.
Then came the weird stuff like bell bottom pants and wide belts
and tye-dye t-shirts and then really long hair.
The 70's were all over the place. With blue jeans then onto
Nehru jackets and the much frowned-upon Polyester stuff
like leisure suits. Then The Disco scene and - Saturday Night Fever -
    did their thing.
The decade of the 80's saw the worst in fashion and also Movies.
Frizzy hair was in.Music sucked and the clothes were meant more for
places like Disco's or - Studio 54 -. With the music and clothing both
sucking at the same time it was inevitable that Movies and TV were
not to be denied their turn at sucking.
    So Say's I.

I can think of a lot of one-word descriptions for Texas weather. "Great" isn't one of them.

Of course, my opinion may be tainted by the fact that I always seem to end up visiting your fair state in August.

True, this. But you can count on August being a blast furnace. ;)

2 in the chest, 1 in the head. it is not polite to shoot anyone in the buttocks.

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!
"We may have to resort to arms in the future, as we have in the past. We may have to use them to prevent atomic war from being launched against us. But let us have the wisdom to realize that the use of force is a sign of weakness on a higher plane, and that a policy based primarily on recourse to arms will sooner or later fail." -- Charles Lindbergh, Of Flight and Life, 1948

No problem. I visited Dallas several times when my older daughter lived there and always had a good time. She waited tables at a high end restaurant in the toney Highland Park neighborhood. It was nice to see how the other half lived.

WhY ?? Too hot in the summer and bad eateries are the staple.
No Winters to speak of.So forget watching the 4 seasons turn.
Houston is terribly overcrowded as is Dallas.
I think it might be mandatory in most the state to understand
Mexican { or whatever lingo mexico uses }.
I just as soon travel Out West to California.Used to be The Place.
I think I'll wait until the state falls and has to totally change their
    Politics/Polemics.
Or maybe back to Ohio, where Cliff Robertson pronounced in a
really good - Twilight Zone - episode :
    - A Hundred Yards Over the Rim - { 1961 }
    Oh Hi Oh

There is a notion as to being TOO dry.
If the Movie - Giant - or Hud - are any indication.
Least of which - The Last Picture Show - { 1971 } one of the
most depressing backdrops { settings } in Cinema.
Shades of Lillian Gish in - The Wind - {1928} and harshness of the
western prairies { Sweetwater ,Tx. } at the time { era } was considered
to be among one of The Great classic Silent film.
Then ya got - The Westerner - { 1940 } and mean Judge Roy Bean
in his Vinegarron Tx. little dump heap.
I think I'll pass on Texas for the time being..
Unless you can show me a Norman Rockwell painting of said.
