    All spheres are circles.

But not all circles are spheres.

    The proposition is not convertible...

I suppose in your mine the phrase "of or relating to a square" indicates a cube.

Oh wow. I see we cannot communicate. Even a dictionary is of no benefit to you.

Nope. Wrong. ENTIRELY wrong. Let's see you refute this:
    https://www.brightstorm.com/math/geometry/circles/locus-and-definition-of-a-circle-and-sphere/
    or this:
    https://sphere.askdefine.com/

At this point I perceive that you are just sticking to your guns, refusing to admit your error, repeating the same erroneous nonsense over nd over and over because you just can't face error and defeat in the face of facts. Righties tend to be like that.

    >>>So, through the Holy Spirit--"breath" and "spirit" are essentially the same word in the Greek--God gave us those texts.<<<

You don't think the concept of a spirit leads to a slippery slope? Who says what was moved by a spirit, and what wasn't?

But the Greek is simply saying what the Bible says. Therefore it's based on the Bible. A lot of the Bible - eg the Tanakh - is based on western interpretation of Jewish scriptures which contain Eastern thinking. The New Testament - muc h of Pauls teaching - is .adapted for western - Greek - ears. Only in the last century have teachers and students come to interpret the OT and the NT in the light of history, circumstances, beliefs, etc of the time. Studied thus the Bible takes on a different 'appearance'. We no longer have 'Lucifer' in Isaiah. We no longer have a world covering flood. Abraham buying land from peoples who didn't exist in his time. Or Moses mentioning people who appear centuries after his death. No Israelites in Egypt. And much more.

I am still trying to imagine just what relationship a "cube" bears to a circle.

By the way, I am not (and never have been) a miner. So I have no "mine"...

Let me be clear: In the post to which you refer--and here--I am not--not!--arguing the veracity of the Bible. That is the subject of another post.

Rather, I am saying that the New Testament was written in Greek. Koine Greek, to be exact.

    Nothing more, and nothing less.

Look, stop playing word games. If a god influenced man to write it's word, how the hell did it do it? Be direct.

The Israelites were in Egypt because Egypt extended all the way to the Tigris River in the Levant. The Israelites didn't leave Egypt; Egypt left them.

The Greek version of the New Testament was a translation from the original Latin language version. The Bible didn't exist until around 690 A.D.

My understanding is that God did not exactly "influence" anything; rather, He directly gave the New Testament writers the thoughts necessary.

As an addendum: You do seem quite hostile. Is this your everyday demeanor?

Oh, and a serious question for you: Do you consider yourself to be merely non-theist (i.e. atheist), or truly anti-theist? And if it is the latter, then a follow-up question would be: Why is that, exactly?

So this god inserted thoughts into the mind of man? Really? Is that the kind of universe you live in?

BTW, I'd call that influencing, wouldn't you?

I would call it leading through inspiration.

You can call it a banana, it's tin-foil hat stuff. There are no super beings that go around beaming thoughts into our heads.

I really can't say anything towards your free will to express your ideas. I really can't. But do you realize that your words are negatively effecting many readers who are reading this thread. Of course you have the right to express and state your opinion, but are you keeping in mind that there might be many other individuals who might suffer the same type of disbelief due to your comment?

If you truly feel and believe that The Holy Bible is fictional, perhaps providing some sort of evidences to back up your statements might make the discussion more of a discussion rather than opinion throwing. Who knows... If it was about opinion throwing, remarks toward individual character towards persons you or any other have never met in real life might be written down. But such character attacks towards others, or opinions, have led many to commit suicide. If you are not concerned with persons committing suicide due to opinions rather than facts, than how can you consider yourself a person who might be useful to family, friends, or neighborhood? But I am not attacking your personal character.. Please don't take it that way.. I am sure that you know how to defend just as well as you know how to throw arguments. What I am trying to say, is there are many other feeble minded persons who might be swayed in the wrong direction due to comments and or opinions of factual things, that The Holy Bible does exist in Book Stores, without them, themselves, being able to verify or discredit all the things they read.

Basically what I am asking or saying is this... Do you care about others or is that just a false assumption that everybody cares for everybody's else's well being... to the point of NOT providing the material by which they would do harm to themselves or to others??

Let me give an example. The internet service provider you are using... Who is paying for its monthly service charges? If it is all WiFi, then who purchased the computer on which you are typing from?

If you purchased a computer and is being provided with Internet Service, did you get either to try to hurt others or did you get them to try and find useful things to keep your life in a positive well balanced equilibrium?

Also keep in mind that the 'best of Christians' can blow their top also. They are just as human as any other human being, whether believer or not. So to attack a person's character who is actively trying to improve their lives is nothing more than hindering them from getting to that good place they are seeking to enter into..

This idea applies to ALL the age groups with the exception of perhaps those under the age of 5 or so.

Hebrew 'Mitzrahim' = Translated Egypt eg Duet.17:16.

I'm not a student of Hebrew but in my studies of the Bible I've cross-referred Hebrew and English translations.

Whose fault is it if a person doesn't know history? The area was part of Egypt.

I have studied the history of the area. I know very well what areas various empires of the time covered. It's like saying Australia was Britain centuries ago just because we settled it. Palestine was never Egypt. It was simply ruled by the Egyptians for a time until it was taken by the next empire - and the next empire - and the next empire. Taken as a whole Egypt's borders have varied little over millenia. Regardless of who ruled.

It is really difficult to have a rational discussion with someone who breezily dismisses the views of others as mere "tin-foil hat stuff."

Anyway, you strike me as being not merely non-religious--which is a reasonable choice--but thoroughly anti-religious (which is not reasonable at all).

    See ya later...
