I watched the video, clearly you didn't or you don't know what you're talking about. Which one is it? The officer(s) told him what would happen if he didn't listen, He put his hands behind his back where the officers didn't know what was back there. Good shoot case closed.

 

If you don't see it, you've either never read the Constitution or don't understand it. Check the 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th Amendments. But generally speaking, the US government has no authority to protect anyone from themselves.

I spent the last couple of decades learning the Constitution and civil rights laws as well as the writings of many constitutional scholars. You ask how 4 Amendments apply, the ones you either never read or don't understand? They are part of the Bill of Rights and are a part of the Supreme Law of the Land, so they apply directly to LIMIT the powers of government. No article is a substitute for or overrides the Bill of Rights.

None of the above say anything about protecting citizens from themselves. "Implied powers" are not powers that override the Bill of Rights and they are not powers explicitly granted to the US government. They are assumed powers, left to the "interpretation" of the very entity that was granted LIMITED powers, the fox watching the hen house. Interpretation of the Constitution is yet another assumed power that was never granted to the US government but was seized by SCOTUS in Marbury v Madison (1803).

There's still nothing in the Constitution that grants the US government the power/authority to protect anyone against themselves. Furthermore, there are (at least) 4 Amendments within the Bill of Rights (as cited) that prohibit the US government from creating and/or enforcing laws seizing personal property that isn't stolen.

See what I mean? Still nothing, it's not about me and YOUR civics classes, it's about your fallacy. In Warren v District of Columbia (444 A.2d. 1, D.C. Ct. of Ap. 1981), even SCOTUS ruled the police have no obligation to protect persons from harm, yet another unconstitutional ruling.
