    Netanyahu has again been chosen as one of the top ten most admired figures by the American people.

    Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is the ninth-most admired person in the United States, according to a recent Gallup poll.

    Former President Barack Obama topped the chart for men, while President Donald Trump came in second, Pope Francis came in third, Bill Gates came in eighth and Jeff Bezos came in right after Netanyahu.

    Netanyahu ranked higher than the Dalai Lama and Vice President Mike Pence, who came in 11th and 12th respectively.

    The Israeli premier posted a video thanking Americans for the honor.

    “I’m honored,” said Netanyahu. “My staff just told me that there was a Gallup poll where I was included in the ten most admired people by the American public. I appreciate that–not because of the support for me, but first and foremost for my country Israel. Thank you, America.”

    A genuinely surprised 'tis poster is. How can 'tis be? True, we' continuously told about powerful Jewish lobby in America, about how most Americans despise Israel and Israelis and rout for Palestinians and their cause, how Israel is an aggressor, colonial power, a thief and a bully, who's citizen'z favorite pastime is to ethnic cleans Palestinians, and yet Americans still admire Netanyahu?

    Now, it cannot possible be that it is the only American Jews who admire Netanyahu - there's only 2.2% or 5mln Jews who lives in America, so clearly lot's of Americans of other "backgrounds" have voted for Netanyahu...

    How many Americans voted for Abbas, I wonder? :confusion:

    Only some terrorist sympathizers. Although the really big terrorist sympathizers hate Abbas too because he's not radical enough for them.

    Netanyahu stands up for his country. Conservatives admire that. Liberals hate it, unless it's a communist country.

    I agree with Obama and the Pope and with Netanyahu.

    I would not put Trump on the list however.

    All he has done is cut taxes mostly on the rich.

    Now he needs to try and cut Federal expenditures too. That won't be easy.

    If true, this bodes poorly for the Iranian government, not only because Putin fleeced them, but because he assesses their situation as one in which he can fleece them with impunity. Alternatively, the Israelis figured it out on their own but successfully duped the Iranians into blaming Putin, which doesn’t make the Iranians look good either.

    Neyanyahu is a fighter and he's smart.

    Yes, you response is a fairly typical example of the new anti-Semitism. It's based upon the old one but has no meaning beyond using it as a blunt, ignorant weapon thus entirely denigrating those who suffered at the hands of the real thing.

    But hey, I'm not surprised at all so don't you get all of a tizzy at being revealed.

    Obama was first place in this same poll, with around 20%. Netanyahu is at 1%.

    Trump has had far more success than I think anyone reasonably thought he would. Irrespective of whether or not you think it's a good bill, it's an impressive feat to get a tax bill of that magnitude passed. All the Trumpists really expected was a SCOTUS appointment.

    It's not easy having half your party practically belong to the other team. McCain et al.
