I hope you have a better explsination than that Young healthy SMOKERS are harmed by eating GMO. Brocccoli? Thats very funnny But it doent mean there is no valid complaint in there somewhere
Often they do not explain in plain English using their own words but as you said throw a big pile of references at you
you're missing the point... it's about broccoli having capability to repair DNA, so now we splice and change broccoli... question: does it still repair dna and will it repair it the same way as before?
we don't have the tech and the capability to do studies that will tell us what happens. That is exactly my point, and until we do we need to label food so people can at least choose how much gmo they consume.
It would seem that you have a limit to that fear of not knowing what effect a food will have on your DNA or else it would likely prevent you from ever trying a new-to-you food. Ever. What does pepperoni pizza do to my DNA? I don't know but I'm gonna dunk it in Ranch and not worry about it.
What is so difficult in sticking a label on a vegetable...are you handicapped? If you want to live on pizza that's your choice... I do not because I understand why we get cancer
I found it I found it. I knew there was something I wasn't understanding. This video explained it so well. I can understand more the perspective you have.
Why act like GMOs are somehow worse than any hybrid? That's what GMOs are, but without relying on nature's much less precise means of combining genes to get a desired result. Check out SiNNiK's video just above if you haven't yet.
Not good enough... some guy promoting gmo's with diagrams that's not science, no matter how you spin it. He say's we attack gmo's because of economic and cultural reasons which is clearly NOT the case. VVVVVV - He also says we used pesticides in the past and ignored it which is exactly why we should NOT ignore gmo's (it's called learning from your mistakes) I am asking for, 1. a label. 2. if a label is too much of an effort, at least scientifically answer my question regarding whether it still repairs dna, are there any changes to how it repairs dna.. or changes in the nutritional value. What you people don't understand is that there are other people out there like me who eat food for a purpose.
When it comes to GMOs, people avoid them for misguided reasons. What is this nonsense about repairing DNA?
see you are not even aware of the purpose of broccoli, of course you're going to think I'm just being difficult. I am not saying gmo's are evil, because honestly I don't know. The same way we don't know whether gmo's still repairs our dna or perhaps even change it if we consume it long term. We don't know. Label it - so people like me can pay extra to eat non-gmo foods in order to limit our exposure to gmo's until we have answers to these questions on a cellular level. No one needs to get all worked up just...... label it.

People get downright superstitious about food. Eating organic and avoiding things like GMOs and (lol) gluten is the modern, secular version of eating kosher. Repairing DNA... lmao. Consider this. If scientific research into broccoli and other foods has revealed that they help us to repair our DNA, that research likely used the same GMO or non-GMO sources that every food market uses. It's not like scientists are going to get special broccoli to test. Just eat your greens and quit complaining already.
gluten free foods are generally quite unhealthy... so not recommended unless you're diagnosed with coeliac disease. you are making assumptions and sweeping all concerns under the rug... that is your right. But it is my right to NOT do that. Besides I'm not complaining. All I'm asking for is a label, I find the biggest complainers to be those in favour or gmo's
As the video pointed out GMOs are in almost all staple crops like corn, soybeans, rice and wheat I think if we put a gmo lable on everything you eat is would not be very helpful And you might starve to death I think we need more information
You didn't watch the video or else you would know that it's not GMO's that you fear, it's Transgenesis or Genetically Engineered Organisms that you fear. Why on Earth be dishonest? Unless your sole intent is to just be difficult. The part of the video that I'm referring to is at the 3 minute mark. And lol@some guy, as though you are under the impression that this is just some guy's opinion, and pretending that you are completely unaware of SciShow and their many wonderful, informative, videos and the amount of expertise they can bring to bear on any number of subjects. On the other hand, if you really are unaware of SciShow, I recommend that you set aside some time to go on a SciShow grind and check them out. Also Veritasium on youtube is another great source for informative videos. Someone with your mindset might be into it.
There is defenately a consumer demand for NGO food 99%of the people dont know what they are afraid of but nevertheless they want no part of it
Personally, I'm in favor of agricultural technologies that keep humanity well fed rather than starving. GMOs accomplish that and, importantly, are safe for human consumption. You mentioned earlier knowing what causes cancer. I'm thinking more than a few people in relevant medical fields would like a conference with you.
Interesting! In my opinion... sales people for GMO companies will risk the deaths of millions of people over the coming century or two....... in order to make higher commissions and bonuses over the next year or so.
Have you, by chance, watched any episodes of The Checkout on YouTube? Cool Aussie program I came across not too long ago. They did an episode talking about organic vs non-organic foods, though I don't recall whether GMOs were brought up there. It was a good one, at any rate.
