It's called the "slippery slope" and Nancy Pelosi is on record of banning all guns in America.

The anti-gun left fails to realize that the 2nd was added to the Constitution to protect the people from people like them.

I agree and I think it's past time to repeal.

I'm seeing more and more AR's during deer season every year.

AR's seem to be the weapon of choice of pig hunters today.

Wild hogs are very dangerous critters. You want something more than a bolt action rifle.

You need an ID and have to fill out paper work to buy milk? Is that a food stamp thing or something? I have bought both recently and the purchases were quite a bit different.

This has been tried before and led to the development of the very cheap Hi Point carbine with a ten round mag of 9mm, the Saturday night special of "assault rifles". The law of unforeseen consequences.

You could also still buy an AK just change some of the cosmetic features like changing the stock to a thumb hole stock. California has to add thumb hole stocks.

Which was cutting edge military technology in it's day that was considered extremely deadly. Those rifles were definitely meant to kill and we're used very effectively by the continental army to kill large numbers of men in red costs.

You should be concerned. You are trolled by the left and you take the bait.

Even the U.S. military had to step in and inform the low information lefties of what an assault rifle is.

    Sturmgewehr...simple German for storm rifle.

To storm a position or to charge at and assault the enemy position.

A rifle that you can shoot while running towards the enemy.

    Assault rifle.

    The first assault rifle...Sturmgewer-44

They and all other scary looking guns are banned in Massachusetts and this was unilaterally decreed by the state's AG without consulting the legislature. This ban also effects all firearm capacities and various and sundry accessories. The AG is your typical lefty loon who no doubt will at some point make a pitch to ban all firearms in this state the Constitution be damned. Presently the ban is being contested in the courts ( that are populated by mostly liberals ) and so far it's an up hill fight. Remember all of the really crazy liberal stuff that happens in California is born here in the People's Republic of Massachusetts. This lunacy has seriously diminished the rights of Americans in all of the northeast and is spreading like a cancer. My advice to all gun owners is to buy all the firearms you can afford, there is no law restricting how many you can own also, buy tens of thousands of rounds of ammo. If possible obtain an FFL or even better a license for Title II or NFA weapons. If it can happen here it can happen anywhere, if you don't think so just look at the restrictions in your state that didn't exist just a generation ago. It's happening in slow motion but it's happening. If we are not vigilant about this one day we'll wake up and the nuts will have won.

The pro gun side refuses to give an inch because they love their guns more than they love their fellow man. That’s the plain unvarnished realty. Sweep everything else aside and that’s the undeniable truth that remains.

The fact you believe your response to be reasonable explains why the pro-gun side refuses to give an inch.

The 8th deadliest school shooting in the world was done with a bolt action rifle.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school_massacres_by_death_toll

The most deadly US school shooting ever was done with a .22 and a 9mm handgun.

In fact, when you look at the entire list of school shootings in the US, only 5 of them I think involved a so-called "assault weapon".

The fact that you are utterly incapable of engaging me in a real conversation shows that I hit it right on the nose. How’s it feel to be completely bereft of morality?

The thing that gets me is almost all of the "scary" features on what people like to call "assault rifles" have virtually nothing to do with their efficiency as a killing tool.

because the ultimate crime is not agreeing with jackass ultra-left people and for that your child should be murdered.

And we're supposed to believe anybody that says something so f****** deranged is capable of Common Sense gun restrictions.

The 2nd Amendment was NOT intended to preserve rights for hunters, home defense or even defense against an oppressive government.

The 2nd Amendment was put into the Bill of Rights because the founders were too cheap to fund a regular standing army.

The people's right to bear arms shall be determined by the individual states. Fixed it for you.

That is right. And that is their goal, it is no secret.

From a FB group to repeal the 2A

"We propose the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
Section 1. The Second Amendment is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Congress shall enact legislation regulating the sale and ownership of firearms."

Here is another version from a grassroots petition:

AMENDMENT XXVIII: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed, with the exception of all automatic or semi-automatic assault handguns or rifles (including magazines and accessories used to convert guns or rifles with large capacity magazines). Ownership or possession of these items shall be banned for all civilians in the United States of America (excepting police and military), with mandatory repurchase and destruction under the direct and aggressive supervision by a Federal agency, as designated and funded by Congress, in perpetuity.”

This won’t ‘solve’ the problem of our gun culture in the US (over double the gun ownership per capita of any other country) -- with 6x the per capita number of gun deaths than Canada, 16x Germany. In states with more gun controls, fewer police officers are killed. Excluding suicides, over 15,000 people died from gun violence in 2017 in the US. There is a mass shooting (4 or more deaths) on average every day in the US.

Let us as a people with resolve, who love our children and families, take an initial step towards bringing back rationality – at least about automatic weapons which are clearly intended for one purpose, killing as many people as possible.

The proposed XXVIII Amendment will never pass in our current lobbyist-beholden and money-polluted Congress. What’s needed is an unprecedented outpouring of citizen activism in every state to petition Congress for a Constitutional Convention. 34 State Legislatures must pass legislation to successfully request a Constitutional Convention.

Millions of dollars of anti-gun control lobbying and television, newspaper, social media ads will be spent by the profit-driven gun industry. With a rising up of our actually doing something to stop this crazy gun violence, this obvious step CAN be accomplished.

The suggestion that arming all our schools with officers at all times patrolling the hallways is nonsense. It can never work and will traumatize millions of children.

Rise up America! Start in your community and join the effort nationally. Sign the petition to end ownership of automatic weapons. Share it with friends and family and on social media. March. Start organizations, local initiatives. Support the efforts of those already doing something on this issue. If we “wait” for a solution that solves all our gun culture problems, nothing will ever happen (including the illusion that the 2nd Amendment can, by itself, be repealed).

    https://www.change.org/p/grass-roots-citizen-uprising-support-the-28th-amendment-to-eliminate-automatic-weapons

It is interesting that they admit they are not done and their proposal wont solve the problem. The only satisfaction they will have is a complete ban on private gun ownership and gun confiscation.

First it is assault style rifles, then it is semi auto shotguns, then semi auto pistols, then revolvers. Look to England and Australia for how it is done.

    http://www.ncc-1776.org/tle2010/tle558-20100221-07.html

Now the UK is working on banning air guns.
