Go ahead ... make my day.It is not easily understood nor plied.Take for example the Epic Movie - Doctor Zhivago - which to this day I do not fully comprehend. It involves Love, which I understand but also stuff like Bolshevism, which I don't.I understand plain spoken men like Ernest Hemingway,Eric Hoffer { True Believer } and John Steinbeck.Excellent writers who make near perfect sense. The Movie - Doctor Zhivago - no matter how long or well written by Boris Pasternak does not make sense.Because it involves Mistrust and Revolution and Bolshevism.Like in the Movie the key question is raised " Pasha, are you a Bolshevik ? " and Pasha replies ... " No they do not like me and I don't like them. They don't know right from wrong ". Which of course is the dilemma that President Trump has been placed in. Because he's a simple man with a simple dream.Making America Great Again. Is far too simple a goal for those like - The Young Turks -. Who are budding Troyskites, even if they know it or not. They { Cenk Ugur and his bunch } Live to spin their view of reality.I doubt any of them found Obama's message of - Hope and Change - one bit dopey or contrived.Because Obama dressed up his messaging and wrapped with nice packaging and silk bows. But there is no way on Earth to dress up Communism. It is like that large frozen House in the Russian Countryside in - Doctor Zhivago -. Unforgiving and cold as ice and basically uninhabitable.Which explains why one need be a - True Believer - in order to place themselves in that frozen environment. Which also helps to explain Nikolai Ivanovich Bukharin { Russian theoretician } and his work - The ABC of Communism -. " Faith in God is thus a reflection of loathsome earthly conditions ". Is that so.Then explain why those in Hollywood tend to side with the likes of those who were taught Marxism at Columbia U. Like many a Professor and those in the Media.Like Obama. Because like Hollywood it's an Act.Play-acting with variations. Yes,it is true ... like the movie - Angels With Dirty Faces - where a no nonsense street hustler like Rocky Sullivan { played with great effect by James Cagney } can be tamed and taught a little more sophistication by the likes of Father Jerry { Also with great effect by Pat O'Brien } in order to straighten out those constant quarreling Dead End Kids.In the end, things worked out for the best. Not for Rocky but for the Kids. Don't let anyone con you into Believing Communism is for Kids. Mankind was meant to be Free. But not if it doesn't believe in it. Maybe everything in the end boils down to being a mystery of Faith. Like what Catholics are taught.Who are Baptized in the church by a Priest. Not like Boris Pasternak by his Nanny because of the restrictions imposed on Russian Jews.Pasternal was forced to Decline his Nobel Prize for Literature. Unlike our Country who lauded a New President { Obama } when receiving His Nobel Peace Prize. For what ... You tell me. And the play-acting continues.
The difference between capitalism and communism is with capitalism it is people taking advantage of other people. With communism it is the other way around.
So to sum up your comments 1) you have issues with the fact that Communism was against religion. 2) Obama was a communist and Trump is a pillar of hope who believes in freedom. In response to 1 - correct but, not sure what your point is. You do go on a bit about "faith" but what are you driving at ... would you prefer some kind of theocratic political system ? 2) Obama was not a communist but he certainly had a disdain for main principle on which this nation was founded - individual rights and freedoms "Above" the legitimate authority of Gov't. Obama was a puppet of the International financiers/Oligarchs at the top of the food chain within the Establishment. Unfortunately ... Trump is cut from the same cloth. Trump also has a massive disdain for the founding principles and Rule of law and he too is a puppet of the Establishment Oligarchs.
Some things are much simpler than people understand. Talk to a Priest or a Rabbi and you will undoubtedly get unvarnished Truth. Not Politics.Wherein both Priests and Rabbi's spend many years and thousands of hours reading and studying. Things within the Humanities.Communism does not nor ever had any origins of The Self or Humanity as a whole. It is entirely driven by a mindset of Collective Unconscious where human being are viewed in the lens of being instruments.Like what Franz Kafka was driving at in his many works. Eric Hoffer absolutely nails it with his take.Which deals with the human psyche and how it's like Fast Food.We like it because it satisfies some urge.An urge that needs instant gratification. Like Protesting for the sake of Protesting. Donald Trump may not be well read but he does understand human nature and what motivates humans and more specifically Americans.Or being an American.Obama never gave 2 craps about what it means to be American. If he did he never would have used the word { T-bagger } when speaking about the Tea Party. Or allowed one of the key ObamaCare architechs { Jonathan Gruber } to get caught talking about how " stupid the average American " as one of the motivating factors in getting ObamaCare passed. Donald Trump takes on Bullies. The Mainstream media and Obama are joined at the hip in regards to being Bullies. They also Lie as a matter of course. Communism relies on Lies. " The American Government is premised on the theory that if the mind of man is to be free, his ideas, his beliefs, his ideology, his philosophy must be placed beyond the reach of government. " -- William O. Douglas
` To me, communism is something the over 60s crowd is still very afraid of. As their numbers decline, so will this paranoia. `
Communism is something that rears its ugly head every generation or so that is disguised as something else. Now it is called liberal progressivism.
" Peaceful coexistence of the Socialist and capitalist countries is an objective necessity for the development of human society. " { Draft Program for the Soviet Communist Party July30,1961 } -- Nikita Khrushchov
Communism, at its most basic, is the belief that there should be no social classes, most often meaning a drastic reshaping of how property is handled, specifically the elimination of private property (which, in communist thought, is not the same thing as personal property). It is heavily related to socialism, where "the people" own the means of production. Communists differ on how to accomplish this, with some being anarchist communists (who most often just want to live in communes and practice communism privately, in a voluntary community, without forcing it on anyone else) and others being revolutionary. Marx, the most popular communist thinker, is in the later camp, and most of the time when you hear people talking about "communism," they are talking about Marxist communism. Marx wanted to achieve communism, but he thought this would/should be accomplished by the working class violently overthrowing their employers, seizing private property and turning the tables for a while in order to get rid of the class system. Basically, he wanted groups A and B to be equal, but A was oppressing B, so B has to oppress A for a while to make things even. It was called the tyranny of the proletariat. And Marx didn't just think this is the way things should be, he thought there was a metaphysical force in history that would bring these revolutions about as a matter of historical necessity. So, let's use an example. My favorite is a simple on: anvils. Let's say I go to a hardware store and buy some anvils. Way more anvils than I could ever use myself. I also buy some land and build a workshop on it. I put the anvils, forge and other tools in the workshop, but rather than build anything myself, I put out an ad offering to compensate people if they will use my anvils and other tools to make things for me. I go and sell those things and keep whatever money remains after I deduct my costs from that revenue, either just pocketing it or re-investing it in my business. That's capitalism. Under capitalism, buying an anvil for my personal use and buying as business capital like I have here are treated with the same concept of property rights. Keeping the goods produced is also treated the same as turning around and selling them for a profit. I bought it, so it is mine, regardless of what use it is put to. Full disclosure: this is my own philosophy. In communism and socialism, property ownership should be treated differently depending on its use -- if the property is used to make other things, or if it is going to be sold to another party, then it should belong to the people who made it. Now let's say one of my workers is unhappy with this arrangement. He doesn't like the social distinction that exists between me and him, and he wants that social distinction to go away. In fact, he doesn't think this employer/employee relationship, with the employer owning things like anvils, should't exist anywhere. He's a communist. He may be an anarchist communist who goes off with a group of his blacksmith friends and buy their own anvils that they collectively own, or he may be a revolutionary/Marxist communist who advocates violently separating me from the anvils. Marxist communism is based on a lot of faulty ideas regarding the labor theory of value (goods being objectively valued based on the amount of labor that went into them) and a fairly superstitious view of history that posits some sort of near-magical, inevitable march of "progress." Needless to say, there is also that whole violent overthrow part as well that makes it questionable. I disagree with the pacifist anarchist communists about a lot of things, but at least their only plan is to go off and do their own thing, and that sort of stuff is fine even in anarcho-capitalism.
There is abjectly no incentive for a creative person or one who dreams of a better future or The Best possible future { Nice Home, nice neighborhood, more than one car and maybe a swimming pool with a Jacuzzi }. But one knows he has to be successful at whatever career choice he makes.Communism and Socialism do not allow for that development. In fact,in Communism, one is punished for that kind of American Dream. In Socialism it is not likely also, unless one works for whatever Government job pays the best. Communism and to a large degree Socialism is the antipathy of the American Dream. One's dreams are the result of the State.Take it or leave it.But then in Communism one cannot even leave. Not as bad as a southern chain gang, but it could be.Historically it has been.
Yeah, that's it. It's only scary to silly old people. In reality it's warm and fuzzy and totally nice.
Communism is the thing that very very silly rich and middle class, over-indulged and highly individualist white kids think will somehow be magically awesome ... cause they like it. Not a one of them would last 24 hours in the dull, monotonous and conformist reality of working for common purse.
Communism barely exists anymore unless that is defined as anything that is not libertarian in nature.
I think that I remember that communism's creed was, "From everyone according to their ability and to everyone according to their need." It sounds quite wonderful and kind of Christian, but it could only work if there is no greed or lust for power. Since there seem to be quite number of greedy, lustful people in communist countries, they are not "communist" countries. They are dictatorshjps and oligarcies (I apologize for the spelling) that pretend to be communist.
Communism is a utopian fantasy that doesn't work because it flies in the face of human sovereignty, ambition and self determination. We've seen what Communism does in our own welfare state, this sort of wealth redistribution creates a population that ceases to participate in society, produces nothing, is totally dependent and constantly demands more. Like a Ponzi scheme it collapses because wealth is eventually exhausted.
It is an insult to the hundreds of millions who died under the hands of communism to even compare it with capitalism.
Fervent anti-communists, like Ayn Rand, believe in a utopian meritocracy. Never happened, never will. Some people are, by nature, motivated by greed and power. - in any system.
Yes but that refers to "work". Not, as the phrase has been misinterpreted, to wealth. In other words, Marx believed that "work" was a "need". So people would work, not because they were paid, but because they had to satisfy a basic need. In case anybody was wondering why it failed....
The problem exists in Communism with either one or a few in total charge of a Country.Like Mao who killed more humans in history { around 60 Million } than any one ruler/despot. Is it better to have One Huge Commie like a mad man who can with the back of his hand ... eliminate practically any thing, animal or human in their line of sight.Like Mao Zedong Or currently Kim Jun-" fat boy ".
Communism is a stateless society where the means of production are owned collectively and managed via direct democracy. On a small scale, this works just fine. In some ways, the family unit mirrors a small commune. However, once you try to scale this up, it becomes increasingly authoritarian and inefficient.
It works like this, if you are willing to adopt socialism and hate American imperialist and are willing to murder innocent people during a war of liberation, you get yourself a free AK-47 and all the free ammunition you want.
Communism is when the workers become the new Capitalists and the surviving old Capitalists are sent to Anger Management Camp.
