There is only one reason you're having shooter problems where other nations (which have the same drift away from family values and religion - more in many cases - the same access to social media, movies, and video games, the same everything) aren't.
We have laws to limit the access of guns to the crazies. The boy in this latest Florida shooting was on the radar for some time, but nothing was done by federal or local law enforcement. The Texas church shooting by a former Air Force member was preventable.......only if the Air Force would have reported him like they should have. We have laws, but until they are enforced some crazies will not be stopped. Just two shootings off the top of my head.
Maybe. I agree face to face interaction tends to be a lot more pleasant and human then what we say to eachother on this forum. Look maybe it would help, I just don't think you would get the immediate benefits that would justify the restriction on the personal liberty, but I am for discussing the idea and am open to my mind being changed on this one.
If your country has laws that would stop these shooting but are not adequately enforcing that law, why aren't you voting in someone who can?
Almost all rights are restricted already. That is not something new. But you admit there is ZERO chance that the US would EVER do this.
Because SM can't kill 17 children and teachers in minutes. Or 58 country & western fans in 10 minutes.
I dont think hes questioning the intention to restrict more whether you would be able to. To be honest I think most countries could do a decent job of banning facebook if they tried, make it illegal for any ISP to allow anyone to any facebook address and you will cut the traffic down like their is no tomorrow. Though people will just move to a different social media platform.
The solution for one place doesn't have to be the solution for all places, and sometimes is not the best solution.
This is why I think this is a waste of time. What if we said everyone in the US MUST undergo an extensive psychiatric evaluation and those who do not pass are barred from guns. Would it work....maybe....BUT IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. This stuff is just fantasy
Maybe that's the difference then......I'm playing the long game that will end with better overall health of a nation, instead of the immediate fix that will still leave the underlying problem to only fester into another form.
We're #1!!!!! We're #1!!!!!! In incarceration rate and mass-shootings. how embarrasing to be an American.
News flash we are none of those countries. It always amazes me when people repeat the same thing over and over, but expect a different result for some reason. Banning alcohol didn't work, banning drugs hasn't worked, banning guns will not work. The underlying problem in the US will not go away if guns went away. The OKC bombing proved that.
Another problem we have in this country is that we only have 2 political parties for the most part and the people that vote for them are dedicated...crazy like. I haven't voted for the last few Presidents (but have voted) and I constantly vote against the incumbent in my area, if I can vote since one party can't vote in another's primaries.
Those 'underlying problems' exist in all modern democratic first world nations. That's why we don't allow guns in the general community.
You need to let go of let the negative energy towards VG it is consuming you. I like your Rubio commentary, I went and read this story about him following your post. https://edition.cnn.com/2018/02/22/politics/marco-rubio-gun-debate-cnn-town-hall/index.html On this forum though, VG is Rubio and the gun freedom advocates play the role of angry victim horde rubio faced.
Seems it can. http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-live-google-search-results-highlight-a-worrying-trend-2017-4
What is the common denominator in gun deaths? Or rather, two common denominators? Crazy people, and guns. You cannot ban crazy people, so you ban guns. It is that simple.
