The White House recently made an offer on immigration that includes on exchange for 10- to 12-year path to citizenship for both DACA enrollees and other DACA-eligible illegal immigrants, estimated to be 1.8 million people, The White House wants:

25 Billion dollars for a border wall.

Restrict family chain migration to spouses and minor children.

    Eliminate the visa lottery program.

To a Trump supporter, this is giving away the farm. Nobody was even talking about the 1.8 million possible DACA eligible populations before. Compared to what was being offered before, this is a major give on amnesty. If I were a Democrat I would have jumped on this deal quick before Stephen Miller could re-strengthen his hypnotic spell on Trump.

But I’m not a Democrat so instead of getting Trump’s John Hancock on the deal quickly, “Chuck and Nancy” rejected it out of hand, with Schumer stating that it flies in the face of what most Americans believe and Pelosi tweeting that the proposal was part of a “campaign to make America white again.”

    WTF?

Democrats are actually turning down an amnesty for 1.8 million illegals because they want to keep the visa lottery and chain migration? Clearly Democratic caterwauling about the "dreamers" was never sincere. They were just using them as a bargaining chip. So my question is...
...what do Democrats want? What do they see as a reasonable immigration policy? During the campaign Hillary Clinton seemed to argue for a de facto "Wet foot/Dry foot" immigration policy; if you can make it to the US without being apprehended, than you can stay. Is that what the party supports?

Could it be open borders? No passports, no visas, no nothing, just come on in if you want to. We don't enforce current immigration laws, if we did you wouldn't have all these illegals roaming around. So much for being a nation of laws.

I've been told on numerous occasions that the Republicans really don't want to stop illegal immigration because the folks who support the Republican Party want cheap labor and the Democrats don't want to stop illegal immigration because they hope at sometime in the future these illegals become citizens and vote Democratic. So both parties turn a blind eye to illegal immigration because illegal immigration gives both parties what they want.

The dems are supporting certain businesses which need illegals to make money. It isn't about illegals.
