i wonder what turkey means when they say they/usa will sure get a response militarily in Syria maybe or economic? seems like they like the f 35s and want them to keep heading to there country http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/tu...ate-if-us-halts-f-35-fighter-jet-sales-131366 that is a lot on order http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zon...precedented-attempt-to-check-erdogans-actions
Why sell planes to a country that has become increasingly hostile to the West? What's next? Selling nuclear subs to Russia and China?
i think the kurd situation is spiting us up https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-actions-kurdish-militants-erdogan-syria-iraq
see the usa is stupid siding with the kurds gains little or nothing in the middle east, but loosing a powerfull turkey as a friend is really a bad idea.
So you are saying you want the US to sell advanced stealth fighters to a country that is increasingly in the control of radical Islamists?
Turkey has not and never will be an "ally". They are a benign annoyance at best and never should have been allowed into NATO in the first place. The Kurds have been a significantly more reliable and useful ally the Turkey ever will be.
i am not worry about it because the young are not grabbing hold of it https://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/or...-so-many-turks-are-losing-faith-in-islam.html
kurds cant even get a piece of land back and hold it for thier own, they are not as tough as you make believed they are
Turkey cannot be trusted. Their alliance with Russia and Iran and troubling. They can use the S400 they get from Russia to look for holes in F35 defense and provide that information back to Russia and Iran (which has a similar system in S300). F35s are not invincible and Russia can use the information they get from Turkey to learn its weaknesses in terms of how to track them. There is also no guarantee that Turkey would not share other F35 related information with Russia. Additionally, Turkey's alliance with NATO is shaky. If they were to break that alliance after getting F35s, then it would be Iran 1979 all over again with hostile government having the best technology in U.S. arsenal. Turkey's moves away from secularism are troubling. It's becoming a totalitarian government that stands against Western values. This is not the Turkey of 20 years ago. NATO needs Turkey and Russia would love to see Turkey break away from NATO. However, United States cannot risk giving Turkey its best technology during their period of political instability.
this is not the usa of years ago either we are siding with folks that have a lot of hatred to others in that region towards them, so its like sticking you hand in a beehive and hoping your not going to be stung
Turkey's diplomacy lacks finesse, they're like a bull in a chinashop, they have one way of negotiating and that's with aggression, trying to bully everyone in doing what they want... seeing they're probably going to bomb the Kurds, US and French troops in northern Syria... I would also reconsider the F-35 deal
Turkey wants that piece of crap? Then, by all means, let's make a clearance deal, and get rid of them while there are suckers ready to pay actual currency for our garbage.
Turkey is not an ally and never was. In Germany we have learned, that when they start threats, you must kick them in the face. Erdogan started all kind of insults against Germany, when we blocked his visits. When we ignored him, it became worse. It ended when we sanctioned Turkey. They are all hot air and nothing else.
Our corporations want those sells. The self interest of our corporations and those that own them, has always figured into our foreign policy too. Our CIA even serves these same interests and have since its inception. American interests translates into, business interests of our elites. Not at all hard to discern this fact. Not a gov't by and for the People, but quite the contrary. It is a gov't by and for big corporations, big banking and the elites that own both. It looks kinda like what an oligarchy looks like.
I agree and I think the Turks know they can't have both, its either Russia top tech or US's, if they wait a few months they would know which is better following Iran-Israel conflict in Syria.
Turkey plays an integral part in NATO.Yet NATO should not be an alliance without standards. If Turkey wants to be a part of it, then they must demonstrate that they are with us and that they share some of our fundamental values. So far, Erdogan has indicated the opposite.
