Actually, I rescued a gal that fell into the water at the docks. I saw she was gone, and asked God where she would be. I reached WAY under the dock, and grabbed her up. She was DEAD if I didn't reach her and fast.

Good for you. Better than having to swim out 400 yards with nothing but a fishing line linking you back to safety.

Sometimes it saves a life, or lives. But if it brings out truth to get a conviction, that's frosting on the cake.

The courts are there for the protection of the law-abiding. Putting people in prison helps with that a great deal.

LOL. Good to see another example that conspiracy theorists don't exist solely on the Right.

Sane, educated and intelligent people know the courts earn their keep regardless if the accused are declared innocent or guilty. That's their job: to resolve disputes.

And if it brings out an innocent person confessing and pleading guilty because the police and DA lie about having evidence they don’t really have?

Yes, I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that states with massive private prison use have huge rates of incarceration and equally coincidental that judges in those states get lots of campaign money from those private prisons.

I don't know Max. I don't want to say this, but i think Questerr has a point. The private prison system in this country has lead to a lot of over sentencing an non-rehabilitation in order for shareholders to maximize profits. There is even stories about the juvenile system over sentencing. PA was pretty recent. Google prison stocks. Invest. CXW.

Not saying criminals shouldn't pay for their crimes but it's real. I don't know what the answer is as i wouldn't trust the gov't to properly manage it either.
