I understand that, but the money will be in the US economy now.

Yeah. I'm just saying it still counted against us, it just wasn't available to be used or taxed.

Let's see the FACTS, not your claims.

Nonsense. Money here > money there. Regardless.

That number is meaningless without context. Is this money parked somewhere in Treasury Bills and Bonds or is it doing anything for the economy ?

My question is what is being done about legalized corporate theft ? The ability of a corporation to open up a shell company in the Cayman Islands ... A shoe produced for 3 dollars in some slave labor nation is sold to that shell corp for 3 dollars... the shell corp then sells that shoe to its US affiliate for 90 Dollars. The shoe is sold in the US for 120 dollars - cost of sales is 20 dollars and so taxable profit is 10 dollars ... rather than 97 dollars.

Trump has done nothing to close this gaping loophole.

If it has no economic effect, then what's the point of giving the holiday? To let some rich guys friends do a bit better? Is that worth the lost tax revenue to a country who's deficits and debt levels are rising? I thought Fiscal Responsibility was a hallmark of Republican orthodoxy? Or does that go out the window when not in opposition?
