    new Trump holiday: Mar-a-Lago Day will celebrate hiring foreign workers instead of American citizens to work at Trumps palace of mirrors in Palm Beach Florida.

    I didn’t know Trumps loyal cultists wanted to turn Trump into a Jung Un type of figure. You already got state media, Fox, now you want a holiday celebrating him. Trump supporters must be in the closet about mimicking North Korea’s government structure. That’s what this OP is displaying.

    Corporations and Wall Street cats are beneficiaries of Trump, not the American People.

    If they were fighting for the right to own slaves then why did they not ratify the Corwin Amendment, which offered them exactly that? Why did they still secede *after* being offered that right?

    For the same reason why the south almost did not sign The Declaration of Independence...their right to own slaves being infringed upon would have been the deal breaker.

    It literally protected constitutionally the right to own slaves from any federal intervention. What isn't good enough here besides your answer?

    Also, pure projection. Progressives are the ony revisionists trying to have us believe that the Civil War was a crusade to end slavery, despite all historical evidence to the contrary. Slavery was as much the reason for the Civil War as the murder of the archduke of Austria was the reason for WW1. What triggers a conflict and the actual reason for it are two very different things.

    Bullshit. You are good with that shovel. In the end, the single issue that prompted the war was slavery. It was the trigger AND the main reason, not withstanding other beefs the south had.

    Either way, the fact is that the Confederacy were traitors to the constitution and "anti-american".

    If the South wasn't seceding over slavery, why did so many declarations of secession say it was about slavery? Why did the CSA constitution prohibit states to ban slavery?

    If the people who seceded were alive today, they would tell you "No, shut up, it was about slavery". They already did it on paper. This isn't something that informed people argue over. Your position is the direct result of ignorance and that's just it.

    Slavery is what triggered the secession. Just like the murder of the archduke of Austria triggered WW1. However neither of those things were the reasons the wars were fought.

    It's funny how I provide verifiable facts to counter progressive revisionism while your argument is literally "I know what dead people think".
