    The part that says "employee".

You have to see how congress defines government employee.

    18 U.S. Code § 202 - Definitions

yes, so it was wrong of Kellyanne Conway to advertise Trump's daughters stuff

that said, wrong is wrong, just cause it's not against the rules to be unethical doesn't mean the administration should be unethical

Trump is proving why we need regulations, if it's not against the rules, some will do those bad things and people like you will defend them saying it's not against the rules

Yes it would be wrong what she did according to the rules if she profited from it.

As for Trump being unethical, well, that's not what the discussion is about. Its about whether he is allowed to do it and he is.

That is ok with you since it doesn't affect you. Trump puts no tariff on his China stuff because tariffs would affect him. But he doesn't give a rat's ass about you and me by placing tariffs on stuff that will affect us. What a guy.

We are talking about corruption, not ideology. If Trump is reaping the spoils of his office, that is corruption since he can and does shape things in his favor.

Um, you didn't get me on anything.

    I proved my point.

It wasn't my fault you were incapable of comprehending my original link.

The president is exempted from any conflict of interest issues.

    I win, you lose.

Gotcha = I got you = I understand what you are saying, now.

    Sigh.

Note your original link didn't mention the president being excluded. Your SECOND link did, hence the confusion.

There is more profit margin, jobs and economic advantage in the fashion industry than there is in those industries you quoted

Actually the nation loses, while the right wing cheers it on.

No person in politics, especially the President and people that write or interpret law, should be allowed to profit from their position while they are in office. Futhermore they should be barred from entering into a position of lobbying or board membership for no less than eight years.

he still does, but he doesn't think others rights should be denied based on his religious beliefs - biblical and sharia law have no place in our government

Certainly you can post something that makes more sense than this.

Or, is the above the zenith of your communication skills?

For example, you might try stating why you think the products Ivanka sells are related to the announced tariff increases.

Really? An industry that on the manufacturing side, for the most part, disappeared from the United States decades ago?

Perhaps you could post some facts to back your statement. I'd be happy to review it.

He is protecting his daughter's company from the increased pricing due to tariffs. Also, the company could fail because of tariffs.

    We'll see.....

    "
The Trump administration’s promise to keep consumer products out of the trade war -- so shoppers wouldn’t take a hit -- may be falling by the wayside.

President Donald Trump’s declaration that “trade wars are easy to win” will now be put to the test. Regardless of the outcome, U.S. shoppers are poised to be losers, despite assurances from the administration that the new tariffs take into account the potential impact on consumers. Much of what the U.S. imports from China is apparel, handbags, shoes and electronics -- products that were largely spared in earlier tariff lists.

“The president has broken his promise to bring ‘maximum pain on China, minimum pain on consumers,’ and American families are the ones being punished,” Hun Quach, vice president of international trade for the Retail Industry Leaders Association, said in a statement following news of the new round of duties. “Consumers, businesses and the American jobs dependent on trade are left in the crosshairs of an escalating global trade war.”
    "

I am sure there will be the "appropriate" exceptions made.
