Why was Bob Marley never accused of being an evil racist?

This guy was a full blown racial separatist and supremacist, but I can’t find a single source where any left wing organization ever took issue with him. I see lots of modern day left wing people wearing Marley shirts, sporting Rastafarian type clothing and hairstyles. What gives? Did the left drop the ball on this guy, or have we discovered a *gasp* double standard?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Marley

Here are some interesting facts on Rastafarianism

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rastafari

Isn’t Snoop Dogg a Rastafarian? Anyone ever ask him about these beliefs? I posted a thread a while back of Jay Z sporting a necklace with a black supremacist group emblem on it. He was confronted once on his allegiance to the group, and he said he believed in it. No negative reaction to Jay Z was seen in the mainstream, he was never challenged on it. No protests of his music. Nothing. He was simply allowed to have racial beliefs, like most non-whites are.

Contrast this with the reaction to ANY white person saying something even remotely pro-white. If a white person had Bob Marley’s views on race, but for their own group, they would be accused of being racist Nazis.

Lets lock him up, oh he's not an American and he's been dead since 1981...perhaps there is a double standard however. Interesting avitar by the way.

Bob Marley's personal views weren't anti-white. He was a peacemaker in Jamaica between the anti-whites and the whites, at least towards the end of his life.

Having nationalistic beliefs of any kind isn't racism. It only becomes racism if said beliefs are complemented by apartheism or sgeregation based on what a person is (in opposition to what a person choses to be).

Poeple often forgot that Bob Marley was a mulatto - "Marley" is an English name.

PS I thought it was a proven fact that the first humanoids were black.

If that were true an awfully lot of Americans must be racist...including all those on this forum who thump their chest at how proud they are to be American.

Actually as a Rastafarian he believed blacks were the “chosen people” of God and he personally believed in fighting back against Western society. He believed in a global racial consciousness and unity among blacks, and an explicitly black nationalist continent of Africa.

If a white person believed they were the “chosen people” of God, believed in fighting back against non-white encroachment of white societies, advocated for a global consciousness of whites, and an explicitly white nationalist continent in Europe, I suspect you’d have a different reaction.

His belief system included blacks creating a black nation in Africa. That would be segregated by definition, no different than if I was to call for an all white Europe.

His nationalist views explicitly included race, though. It is a central part of that religion.

I don’t know, how many? I don’t really see the relevancy though, the left has historically been the ones trying to get people to not embrace race and nations.

You were the one who said..."but I can’t find a single source where any left wing organization ever took issue with him". So my question is...how many right wing organization ever took issue? Why are you only concerned with the left?

I already answered you, the left has historically been the ones getting people away from race and nationalism. I would think they would have taken issue with the guys obvious racial views .

A man that went to Africa and then followed a trail alleges that the first were black.

But if black was the first, and nature improves humans, then whites are the latest and most improved humans on this planet.

Let me put this to rest once and for all. Racism, in the United States,¨is the idea that so-called "white people" are a superior race. Anything else you might have heard is inaccurate.

Bob Marley did not believe that the white race was superior. Therefore he was not a racist. End of story.

There can certainly be prejudice against whites. And the term "reverse racism" has been created by the real racists in order to mislead the gullible. Prejudice shares some elements with racism, but it's not the same. Because racism not just a matter of personal preference. It implies the existence of a systematic discrimination by whites of other races which is built both into government and into the social structure. And the social structure of the United States has incorporated a white privilege which, though we managed to partially erode through decades of hard work, has managed to make a come-back with Trump.

Edit. I also note that he was prejudiced or he would not have started in Africa to begin with. Prejudiced to a particular finding.

That's not even close to being true, while Bob Marley called for national sovereignty, none of this was based on ethno-nationalism, and he certainly did not want to separate or segregate people based on ethnicity. The unity of black and white people was important to Bob Marley having both being a part of his heritage.

    This was his father

Isn't it funny that it was Democrats being the racists so now they define it for us. I see racism as doing things to favor any particular race. Affirmative action is racism.

    Here is a good test.

See if I get attacked by Democrats.

Blacks are marvelous, talented, wonderful people who are the treasure of America.

    Now the test.

Whites are marvelous, talented, wonderful people who are the treasure of America.

For the last, I shall get attacked in very mean spirited ways.
