Remember when conservatives pretended they cared about deficits and leaving so much debt for our children and grandchildren?

Year I knew it was bullshit too.

It was the third bloodiest war in our history, and that includes beating your arse in 1812.

A donald supporter cheering him on while he criminally increases the deficits and debt in a good economy has no standing to criticize Obama, who inhertied a $1.4 trillion debate which was reduced by 2/3 during his term.

I cared and do care. I will always be grateful that he cleaned up the mess of debt and deficit Bush's damn "war" left us with. Better that than another Great Depression.

Look, I get it. I get that he's the Kenyan, Muslin, Commie, whatever and you've got to hate him AND ignore that he set records for job creation and economic growth and a hell of a lot more.

The lie that trump told today - that this economy is the best yadda yadda in our history, of course, a lie. It would have the 5th best under Obama.

Same with his other lies. Fact is, that orange pos has done little more than lie, steal our money, lie, play golf, lie, suck up to our enemies and then lie about it.

Someone else wrote it - all trump has to do is not screw it up.

Digging deeper into the numbers, the gainers were: exports, consumer spending, business investment, and government outlays - WSJ. I see a couple of potential problems in these sectors but I want to look further.

Exports look especially dicey, given the brewing trade war. The quality of business investment, given CEO's going for stock buybacks, needs a breakout. Consumer spending looks bright. If government outlays exceed 20% of GDP in good times, there is trouble ahead for deficits.

Let's see what happens the next two quarters.

All of the whining won't change the FACT that President Trump had a "yuge" week.

Obama is irrelevant - his "legacy" is being deconstructed and buried by President Trump. Good riddance!

The biggest success probably seems trivial as the 9th Circuit Court was the most leberal court in the land - and it hands down two wins for gun rights advocates which tells me President Trump is succeeding in packing the courts with constitutionalists.

The Democrat Party could be next to be sent to the trash bin as it continues to neglect its duty to take care of its constituents and focuses instead on giving the country to illegal alien invaders and selling out to the chinese hegemony

And yours is incredible being that Trump lost the popular vote by a record 3 million votes and the fact that voter turnout was at an all time low.

obamas debt was how much? I love debt and deficit math. Care to tell us which debt / deficit is worse by choosing one of my two scenarios? No leftist has answered my scenarios to date. Theyre very easy for anyone to grasp. The lefts constant refusual to pick one is most amusing to me. Would you like to try assessing which debt / deficit is worse? It will prove if you really believe what you wrote above or not. If yes Ill give you two examples and you can use your economic prowess to tell us which scenario you believe you would rather be in personally. Only say yes if you plan on answering otherwise the dodge will just prove me right for like the 75th time now.

    No, he did not.

In fact, the rest of the planet is clamoring to get in on the global supply chain, just as the American President quits.

If this is allowed to stand, the US will face an EU that is already as large an economy as the United States on one side, and China and the entiriry of Asia and the Asian subcontinent, a collective economy that will dwarf the United States.

Retreating into isolationism and fantasizing about the 1950's is not an effective leadership strategy for dealing with that long term outcome

Take the Peoples Republic of California with its rigged voting system out of the equation and President Trump wins the popular vote by an easy 1.5 million voter margin.

Fitz said: Retreating into isolationism and fantasizing about the 1950's

You people are deluded! The United States has been getting the shaft from all of its trading "partners" for generations. President Trump is levelling that particular playing field and will win all of the battles because the numbers are on his side.

The US has an $800 billion trade deficit - the bulk of it with China, the EU and Mexico - none of whom are our friends. I strongly suggest you remember that old adage "with friends like these, who needs enemies"

As for isolationism - WTF? President Trump has been all over the world and has had dozens of foreign leaders and dignitaries to the US. In many cases he is telling them what they don't want to hear - but, if anything, President Trump is more involved in global afaisr than any President in modern history.

In the 1950's, the rest of the world was a shambles with the US the only power to come out of the war unscathed - with all of its military and economic might still intact. It could afford generous trade consessions - that was 65 years ago - it's time for the rest of the industrialized world to stop feeding from the American teat and spend a few dollars for their own self interests.
