    It isn't about WHERE they were, it was about their purpose and the subsequent repercussions.

    They were biking in an effort to prove that evil is not inherent to people as American's are made to believe. They were biking through a fairly risky area to prove their point. They were subsequently stabbed to death.

    How can you not see the irony there and illogical banter on their blog and draw the conclusion that they were clueless?

    Staying out of a country that has designated terrorist areas would be a good start. Of course people live there. How many were looking to kill Westerners? People live in Mexican towns run by cartels, how safe are they?

    "Believing that evil was a make-believe concept" is an absurd belief that most likely led to them being killed.
