Then you can prove there are only 11 Million illegals?

I'll wait your you to prove your claim.

It was not very clear to me what that poll was actually discovering.

Let me try to explain: I suspect that most people, in most civilized countries, would not object to letting in a few immigrants, especially if they were refugees. The problems start when you have (1) more than a few ... perhaps an indefinite number, maybe a growing number, and (2) these immigrants come from a culture which is very different to that of the host country. Here is where I think people start to get uneasy.

Now most people have very little idea about the laws/regulations governing immigration to their own country, how these laws/regulations are actually enforced, the numbers of immigrants coming, the numbers who might come in the future, the rate at which the new immigrants assimilate/get jobs/commit crimes ... they just don't know these things.

So if you ask vague questions like "how do you feel about immigrants?" you won't get much in the way of real answers.

You've got to ask the kinds of questions I suggested. That would give us some real data.

Well, we can't do much polling ourselves, but I can ask you: do you feel there should be any restrictions on immigration to the US? If so, whom would you keep out? Or would you have immigration be strictly on a first-come first-served basis, while limiting numbers?

    Bullshit.

ILLEGAL aliens lower wages because they work cheap. Fix that and you fix the problem. Strictly and harshly enforce hiring laws and raise the minimum wage and that downward pressure on wages goes away.
But they won't do that because they WANT that cheap labor and they WANT that downward pressure on wages

Of course. This is why the Republicans never did anything about it ... too many Republican big donors owning chicken-gutting plants and the like with illegals working for peanuts in them. Follow the money.

However, "raising the minimum wage" may or may not be a good idea for other reasons, but doing that might actually both have the effect of attracting American workers into these jobs (a good thing), but it will also run counter to discouraging immigration of unskilled workers, illegal or legal, since it will attract them as well. It would be interesting to see the effect of high minimum wages in industries that have a lot of illegals in them. (I think the problem with these sorts of jobs is that even with improved wages, their 'prestige' is such that a lot of young people just won't do them -- that is, I think it may not just be a question of 10 or 20% higher wages, but is deeper than that.)

Just enforce the hiring laws seriously: a hundred dollar a day fine for any employer found employing an illegal for the duration of that employment, with half the money going to whoever turned him in.

If this then results in really serious labor shortages because no American will do these jobs, we can talk about guest-worker programs, or increasing legal immigration.

Ditto. I earned more money because my boss' business started earning more money as soon as Trump became president. Trump built this, and fork Barack Obama!

You mean the ones that went to his rallies in order to commit violence?

    That's called self defense.

Or wear a MAGA hat in Portland without being spit on.

But really, this is all about states. Trump can't stop people from attacking his supporters, and really, he's attacked constantly. We all have to deal with lefties. The only difference is that Trump has the secret service to protect him.

WASHINGTON — Facing the prospect of bruising electoral defeat in congressional elections, President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he won't accept the blame if his party loses control of the House in November, arguing his campaigning and endorsements have helped Republican candidates.

In a wide-ranging interview three weeks before Election Day, Trump told The Associated Press he senses voter enthusiasm rivaling 2016 and he expressed cautious optimism that his most loyal supporters will vote even when he is not on the ballot. He dismissed suggestions that he might take responsibility, as his predecessor did, for midterm losses or view the outcome as a referendum on his presidency.

"No, I think I'm helping people," Trump said. "I don't believe anybody has ever had this kind of impact."

Did they support only Trump and Trump alone or is it the entire GOP in general?.

Or maybe the government should not force citizens to purchase a private product and steal THEIR $ to support invaders.
Your answer and my answer clearly illustrates the fundamental differences between the liberal and Conservative mentality.

    Two things have changed:
    1. The Republicans have become a party that supports the voters and the American working family first and the special interests last
    2. Every day that President Trump gets to dismantle the Obama-Democrat legacy, is another day that my children and grandchildren can live a free and fulfilling life.

The booming Trump economy with record low unemployment is the tip of the spear - we rarely hear mention of the changing culture of the courts from left wing comedies to serious Constitutional analysis.

No change at all would occur in my "personal situation" as THAT is of my own making.
I wouldn't expect Trump, no matter what he does, to have "Made America Great Again", and can only hope that he will begin to put us on a path towards "Making America Great Again". And that can only be accomplished by reducing the dependency of citizens on our Federal government for their needs/wants including the extension of their lives.

My 401K made 13k, about 16%, last quarter. My wife's made more. After the 1st of the year are going to buy a new 4Runner, on a loan. It would be stupid to buy it with cash that could make at least 10% when we can get a 5% loan and let that money work for us.

And you think Trump will ever accomplish this? He's the one who has people so angry at both him and his cultish supporters in the first place.
