The Act reauthorizes NOAA's Marine Debris program, funding it with $10 million per year through 2022. https://marinedebris.noaa.gov/

    President Trump:

This is good news for the Oceans. I hate to see them filled with garbage, like they are now, and I am glad we are working on cleaning it up.

This Act even allows the US State Department to work with other nations in finding ways to clean up the garbage before it goes into the oceans.

As a surfer, I target picking up at least 10 pieces of trash as I come out of the water and up the beach.

Thank you President Trump for bringing awareness and action to a real problem.

How about we put sanctions on China and other countries who dump trash into the ocean and rivers that flow into them?

We should put tariffs on imports from ocean polluters to offset the our cost for cleaning their trash up.

This guy has a valid point. Cleaning the garbage is important, but why not stop dumping first?

I am not disagreeing with the idea that we should attempt to encourage stopping the dumping of trash into waterways that ultimately lead to the oceans.

    Good for Trump!
I don’t agree with a lot that he does but I don’t see how anyone could be against this.

You are likely right, but there are real solutions that are going into the production or execution stage that will be a good start.

    Don't be puzzled!

Trump "effort" to save our seas is less expense than what he spends on one of his busy premier golf courses and the damages caused by them.

    His "effort" is a joke.

    I cannot disagree.

And I don't hate Trump any more than I hate any other politician.

    Except Bernie. :date:

If they cant spin it negative, they will ignore it. Very unlikely the MSM will mention it. If they do, it will be very brief and followed immediately by Trump hate.

Whether the beach or the river we always bring a big trash bag and take back more than we brought! If everyone did that our recreation spaces would remain clean and pristine.

If he could magically cure world famine, I bet you would accuse him of plunging the world into an obesity epidemic...:hmm:
